My partner and I have been going to Ed's since it's opening, circa mid-2000s. The food is great, fresh and it's conveniently located 2 blocks north of our place. I'm not writing this review based on the quality of the food, but rather on the attitude of one staff member. As I mentioned, we've... read more

This place is good! Hard to find a better lobster roll......the lobster is sweet and tender and the roll is perfectly toasted....the fries are delicious and the pickles are crunchy. Admittedly, the lobster roll was $29 so in total it's not a cheap lunch, and it's not a fancy place with any atmosphere, but we did go back twice. We... More

My son and I popped in here after walking around lower Manhattan one morning. We sat at the bar and ordered the raw sampler as a starter ... it came with the oysters of the day plus lots of other seafood goodies. For entrees, he got the lobster ravioli and I the lobster roll. They were both fantastic. The lobster... More

This was the first time eating a lobster roll and it was the highlight of my shopping trip to New York, it was made freshly and tasted devine. I took the roll with French fries and it came with a side of pickles, I'm not into pickles but these tasted like heaven. Will be going back for sure...

We went for dinner on the night before Veterans Day at around 9 and it was very crowded. However the staff was very welcoming and they showed us the menu and the daily specials while we waited for the table. The lobster roll was to die for, and the fries were incredible. We didn't have to wait too long even... More

The lobster was quite good. We had a whole steamed lobster and a lobster roll. Our mussel starter was ok but the sauce (cream) needs some work and maybe some blue cheese to increase its taste. The mussels were from PEI and were on the small side but were clearly fresh. The service was attentive and the price was fair... More

We came here a warm day in june after walking all over manhattan. We have been reading a lot about lobster rolls before we came to New York so we figured it was time to try. The lobster was so delicious and perfect. Combined with the bread and some sparkling wine it was love at first site! If you are... More

Neighborhood Profile
Nolita
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighborhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighborhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
