Great idea and atmosphere, some of the food was mediocre

Had a wonderful brunch on our trip to New York in Feb. Sat upstairs under the light well which gave a more pleasant day vibe compared to in the evening when it's quite dark downstairs. Food as always was really delicious- couldn't recommend enough Also great cocktails!

Couldn't get reservations for brunch at Beauty and Essex, so they suggested I try here - no problem getting one the night before for Sunday. The chef is the same, but don't know about the atmosphere. There were lots of young people, lots of groups, which made it a rather loud place to have a conversation. The food was good,... More

I heard some good reviews on The Stanton Social so I decided to check it out. My friend and I got a few small plates which were all delicious! One of the best dishes we had were the french onion soup dumplings. The kale ceaser salad was also very very good. The small plates were pretty generous portions for two... More

This was a perfect venue for an early dinner after work on a Thursday evening. The entire wait staff was extremely attentive to all of our needs and recommended wonderful dishes like the pierogies and lobster roll. Possibly the best pierogie I ever had! The goat cheese really complemented the fried potato exterior. I was most impressed at how efficient... More

What a find!! Not something you might come across as a tourist but glad we had friends who had been before to introduce us to this amazing place. Firstly on a Saturday night it was packed. We had to wait a little for our table to be ready but in true Manhattan style we waited with a Hendricks and tonic... More

We heard that the Dumpling French Onion Soup was great, and it sure was. If you are a French onion soup fan, this place is a must go. What a surprise to find an outstanding jazz band playing as we enjoyed our lunch. Tried the sliders and they were average.

We waited for an additional 45min for our table. Not a great start. Then as a gesture of goodwill, we sat in the VIP section, and could order 3 starters for free. Great atmosphere and vibe. We went to The Box after which was a great evening out.

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
