Chef/owner Chris Santos has teamed up with Tao owner Richard Wolf, and the James Beard 'Best New Restaurant Design' award winning firm AvroKo, to create The Stanton Social, a staple and neighborhood favorite of the Lower East Side. The design of this three level hot spot tips it's hat to the neighborhood's garment history and offers diners a culinary odyssey. All menu items are designed for sharing, offering guests a chance to experience multiple dishes and flavors throughout their meal. In addition to its 120 seats, The Stanton Social offers a lounge and bar on the upper level, featuring guest DJs. Dishes range from $9-$30 each.

Good food, bad reservation

Good food, enjoyed the atmosphere. Very small bites but that's ok. Tasty! We had a reservation at 8:15 but weren't seated until 8:45. A scotch and a glass of wine in bar while waiting was $35. We had the French onion dumplings and they are highly recommended as well as the warm donuts. The... read more

Having been here on several trips to NY, it's always a bonus when not disappointed and The Stanton Social was as reliably fantastic this time as on my first ever visit. The tapas style way of selecting many little dishes is a brilliant way of trying lots of things - French Onion Soup Dumplings being my favourite. The seating is... More

Incredible & rich dishes! Great service! Great location & atmosphere! By far one of my favorite places on my most recent trip to NYC. Will definitely return! Had a mini lobster roll, mac & cheese, & cheesecake pops. Total was $37 (not exactly cheap); but the taste & quality makes you easily over the look the pricing. If you are... More

Bar and restaurant ambient, personnel attention and helplessness and dishes presentation concept are extraordinary, specially the onion soup dumplings very creative. Take the advice about number of dishes as per number of people in your table, good enough.

This place is a must. The staff were very friendly and the setting was remarkable. We ordered a number of dishes and enjoyed them all immensely. What stood out among them all were the Chicken Taquitos and Korean Short Ribs. The drinks were very good and the staff was willing to prepare any cocktails (even if not in the menu).... More

There were 4 of us and we ordered one of everything practically. It was all good. Seriously. Every dish. Drinks were perfect and we had a good time roaming the neighborhood afterward in a half-buzzed stupor. the surrounding bars were fun too. Just go.

These small plates, while a little pricey, were the perfect spot for our business dinner. The 5 of us each selected a couple options, and the taste testing that ensued was so perfect. The cocktails weren't that great - pretty standard and tired ideas that other restaurants already have. The food is where it's at. And save room for the... More

We had a large group reservation for 8:30 on a Saturday night, we didn't get seated until 9:30!!!! The restaurant had us wait at the 2nd floor bar, I was having so much fun listening to old school hip hop I didn't realized how much time had passed! Regardless the host and wait staff apologized for the delay and made... More

There was not one bad bite from the selection of things we tried. Service was really good too. I can't give it 5 stars because the prices are really inflated. If the prices were just slightly lower, it would be a 5 star for sure! that being said, we tried the french onion dumplings- YUM, taquito, arepas, korean beef tacos... More

Went here with my wife, so we had six different plates and all of them tasted fantastic. This was the first time, so we just followed the recommendations from the waiter. I will certainly try to come here again and then be a larger group, so I'll be able to taste even more plates. Can really recommend if you want... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
