Description: Sfoglia is a lovely little trattoria residing on an unassuming stretch of the Upper East Side, across the street from the 92nd Street Y. Farmhouse tables topped with the season's produce are the appropriate setting for Sfoglia's country Italian fare. The private dining room tucked away upstairs can seat an intimate party of twelve.

We were in on a Sunday night and had a reservation - not sure we would have gotten in otherwise, it was pretty busy. We had a great server who gave good advice to our small-town crew about how to best order off the menu, and what to drink. The food was terrific. Even the busboy was awesome:)

Enjoyed our 1st meal as a married couple here and the laid back ambiance was perfect. We were seated in the back room which felt like more space. We enjoyed the formaggi as an appetizer which was wonderful! My other half had a scrumptious pork chop which was the largest that I've ever seen! I enjoyed the pappardelle alla Bolognese... More

Well....this is why conversations with locals in bars has has its benefits. After hearing rave comments about Spoglia from a Boston native now who lives on the Upper East Side, we decided to work a lunch there into our schedule. And we're we glad we did! This is a "blink and you miss it" spot on the NW corner of... More

Sfoglia offers a good selection of entrees that are well prepared and presented. Very attentive and pleasant service in a warm atmosphere. As a footnote their bread is some of the best I have had.

We chose this restaurant as our wedding lunch recently. The service, food quality and professionalism exceeded our expectations. Ours was a destination wedding so we only got to actually see the restaurant two days before the big day. Adriana had been my main contact and it was great to finally meet her. On the actual day, Adriana wasn't able to... More

Sfoglia is a hidden gem on the upper east side (it's really hidden as you can't see it's awning right away). It is small and very hard to get a reservation. Arguably the top Italian restaurant in NYC. Everything is house made. Even the pasta. The dishes are unique yet still very mainstream in their ingredient choice. The service makes... More

When we first walked in, we felt as though we were dining at a friends house. The staff were friendly. The restaurant was not very crowded which was nice. The tables were close to eachother which would have made it a bit uncomfortable. We had heard about the bread in the restaurant as well as the chicken dish. Several people... More

I just returned from Sfoglia and I think I need an IV to rehydrate. One of the key factors of a good restaurant is ambiance and the sauna like conditions ruined this for me. Although I understand air conditioners can have issues, it's how you deal with the problem that matters. I heard three different tables get three different answers... More

I have been to Sfoglia 5 or 6 times over the last couple of years. They never disappoint. This is clearly not your typical red sauce Italian restaurant. Excellent and very inventive. Try one of their homemade pastas. The wait staff is always attentive but not overly so. An atypical and interesting wine list. Reservations are a must, I typically... More

A friend took me to one of her favorite restaurants on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and I have to say it was one of the best surprises! I arrived a little early and sat at the bar... very attractive, good service and they make a great martini. We were then seated in the front dining room and it... More
