Location for friends coffee house

Fab location, cutest little restaurant with excellent food. Only downside of course...... tons of tourists taking pictures as this was used as in the credits of friends as the apartments and central perk. We went here for a 40th Birthday lunch. It was superb. The restaurant is small enough to feel special, staff were attentive and cute, and the food was delicious: grilled sea bass, done perfectly, and chocolate soufflé with espresso ice cream. Wowza. Great fun sitting next to the window and watching the continual streams of people arriving at the junction... More

I loved the Little Owl in the West Village! Really friendly staff and great food and the coffee was fantastic. It's not a huge venue so maybe not so great for large parties of people, but perfect for smaller groups. Highly recommend dining here.

Probably the smallest restaurant I have ever been in, but is totally worked. I sat by the window in the corner and people in the street kept stopping up and taking pictures and I started feeling like a celebrity. When I got out I expected something crazy, when looking up at the restaurant, but right then and there I saw... More

The perfect place for my wife's birthday; an intimate restaurant in a quiet neighborhood with a free floor show right outside our window. We had no idea when we booked this dinner that the restaurant is located on the ground floor of a building that was used for exterior shots of Monica's apartment on the old TV show Friend's. When... Absolutely got lucky wandering by while hungry...gorgeous part of the west village and on the corner is this amazing little French restaurant. Get the Scottish salmon. You won't be disappointed.

The food and service were both excellent. The food might be expensive and the portions are not massive, but the quality of the food is perfect!! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, whether they were looking to celebrate a special occasion, or just treat themselves to a fantastic meal.

I went here for lunch this visit and have been a couple of times in previous trips. A good menu, food is great and the menu is seasonal. You have to try the meat ball slider which is consistently on the menu. The soft shell crab and asparagus risotto was also good. This place is great for a group of... More

This is a small restaurant that offers a good selection for brunch. We had a table in the window and were provided with great personal service and a great food to match. Portion sizes were good, not lots but enough to share a few things between you if you have an appetite. Booking can be achieved online and we didn’t... More

Yes, little owl has been around a long time but it remains my favorite NY restaurant! The food is amazing: fresh, vibrant flavors and you could choose anything on the menu and be happy. Tonight my husband had the most delicious pork chop, I ate soft shell crab with asparagus risotto (mouthwatering goodness) and we shared the creamy, spicy corn.... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
