Such a cute restaurant and food is such a relief from the American norm

I think this is Spanish inspired? Whatever it is, it was lovely food - quite a different menu and the location (you can check out the Gossip Girl apartment!), the cafe itself and the service is so great. We had entree size meals and shared along with fries. Heaps for lunch.

While it is difficult place to get a reservation it is well worth it. The restaurant, though small, is comfortable and the food was outstanding. The friendly staff just adds to the enjoyment. Certainly our favorite place on our recent trip.

The Little Owl lived up to all the hype. I've been wanting to eat here for a while so finally had to go with an early 5:30 dinner reservation. We walked in to a warm, friendly greeting from the hostess. Our evening was off to a good start. The restaurant is quite small and the table are tight but once... More

Just making it before the kitchen closed we had a fantastic lunch in a great cosy environment. The staff were great and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. There was a mix up with one of our meals and the staff were extremely apologetic.

As a party of 6 we were immediately impressed with this quaint little place. We were promptly seated and given some time to peruse the menu while we ordered some wine. Be aware that this place offers only beer and wine (no hard liquor). We immediately ordered 6 meatball sliders (touted as their specialty). After some more time and consideration,... More

I can see why this place is called The 'little' Owl... The seating is a bit on the tight side along with the small toilet, but the restaurant is cute. I had the duck main which was very nice but only a small portion... Only booked a table as I'm a friends fan but was underwhelmed by the restaurant.

I really wished I had looked at the menu prior to going to the little owl.... Really small and unique (tables really close together) no vegetarian main dishes available so I ordered the pear and walnut salad which was really yummy but really small. I was disappointed not to be given a brunch menu (I didn't ask for it so... More

From the moment we stepped in to the Little Owl we were happy. We were greeted warmly and a table for our group of four plus one child was quickly arranged for us. The service was gracious, attentive and accommodating and the food was fantastic. My personal choice - two eggs poached, side of bacon and brussels sprouts home fries... More

Tiny place on the corner. Excellent food. Love the sliders and the pork chop is to die for. It is very hard to get a table as the place is very popular.

We always stop here when in NYC, and we are never disappointed. Make sure to get a reservation as this place only serves a few tables (maybe 12-15 total). Their gravy meatball sliders are a must! Their halibut is perfectly prepared, and my husband's mahi special was superb. The food here is fantastic, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
