In fairness when you have to book a reservation at exactly 10am 30 days before dining the expectations are very high. I tried calling at 2 minutes to 10 and 1 minute to 10 and it goes to voicemail. At exactly 10 I got through and was put on hold 3 times but got the reservation for a Saturday night.... More

I would not suggest attempting to go without a reservation. It is a tiny restaurant with great meatball sliders.

I have been trying to get into this little gem for a number of years, but it is tiny, can't swing a cat, but it was devine. And for a change one felt everyone else were locals. Limited menu and wine list, which I am very comfortable with, but service was very personable.

My wife and I had a late breakfast at the Little Owl one Sunday in early November. The hype that preceeds this little place is a bit over-the-top. According to all the reviews, it is a mecca for "savvy foodies". Yuck. As far as I am concerned, people who know everything about food except what tastes good are annoying. Little Owl... More

Loved this restaurant! Make reservations in advance. This place is not the well kept secret it used to be. Fabulous dining experience in a great city!

Was down in West Village for a show at the Public Theater. Little Owl was kind enough to change our reservation so we could have a wonderful meal AND get to the late show down the street. Pretty little store-front restaurant with a romantic interior and subdued lighting. Had a few drinks, bottle of wine, appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts.... More

We where in New York on our honeymoon and booked this restaurant several weeks in advance as we know how popular it is. The correspondence with the restaurant was great and exactly the way it should be; friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and for a cold Wednesday evening the atmosphere was inviting. Little Owl is a perfect location... More

We came for an early dinner at 6pm; the restaurant was full. Our table was ready after a few minutes wait. We had 2 starters, after hearing the recommendations from our waiter, my husband ordered the Sardine Filets with Salsa Verde which he enjoyed very much and I ordered the Soft Shell Crab Salad. It was my first Soft Shell... More
