Based on its rating I made a reservation in advance and I'm pleased that I did. It has a relaxed yet warm bistro atmosphere with pleasant and knowledgeable staff. I opted to order two appetizers, both quite yummy: a soft shell crab risotto and the sardine fillets on toast. Both contained a trace of vegetable sweetness (corn for the former... More

We go to the Little Owl every time we get to Manhattan.... about once a year. Once again everything was excellent. We had the table right in front of the kitchen beside the working counter which gave us a chance to chat a bit with the staff..... made this the best visit yet. Treated like old friends. If there is... More

I came here for my husband and my anniversary and it was very lovely! It was out first time and the food was delish! Definitely coming back again soon. Great atmosphere and romantic. I felt like we were in Europe !

We walked in not knowing how difficult it was to get a table at this cozy restaurant, and was just down right lucky to get seated at the bar - as the only option, this small place was packed. Food was AMAZING! We had sliders for entree, lamb for main, and delish chocolate cake. Indeed one of the best meals... More

We sat at the bar and ate brunch. I had the poached eggs which were delicious. All of the food being served looked. Very friendly staff.

I chose this place due to it's ranking on here & also as I wanted to get out of midtown for the evening. On arriving at about 7pm, the small restaurant was packed, but we were told they'd be able to make room for us soon, as a few customers had just finished their main meals. We were asked if... More

Friends had recommended we eat at the Little Owl and I'm glad they did. There were 2 of us and while we left it too late in the day to get a reservation, we were advised that they accepted 'walk-in's'. We went around 9pm and were given a warm greeting by Theresa, who made us feel very welcome. After a... More

What's more rare than NYers in NYC during the summer months? Walking into little owl and getting a table for 2. It's because of the former that it's easier - we walked in at first lunch seating on a Friday (also more reasons it was easy) Great soft shell crab entrée on a bed of delish risotto - hubby got... We came for lunch and had a really nice time. The fact that it's in the friends' building is pretty cool and as the food is decent this place is a great spot to get lunch. My partner had the pork bun and I ordered the cheeseburger. My burger was overcooked (I ordered it medium rare and it came medium... More
