During my trip to NYC, the stop at Billy's Bakery, was very spontaneous, it was late at night and we had just left a bar, and wanted something sweet. We got the pumpkin cupcake. It was fluffy, sweet but not too sweet, and just the perfect amount of icing to cake ratio. I was just upset that I didn't go... More

The shop itself is so cute, so can't kick the atmosphere! The cupcake I had was nice, especially because it's an appropriate size (nice little bite!), but it was maybe on the wrong side of too sweet. Kid who worked there was very nice!

The service was totally unfriendly, the staff behind the counter was so cold and so bothered that I didn't enjoy my cupcakes at all. And yes, like written before, they are doing you a favor to wait on you and take your money and this is of great damage to the bakery's reputation. You feel unconfortable all the time, you... More

Many cupcake places have come and many gone in the city but Billy's continues to put out the best cupcakes. It's fairly near Chelsea market if you are in the area, it's a must stop. Theirs are the most flavorful and moist cupcakes. Nicely dense with beautiful fluffy frosting, either buttercream or cream cheese based. Standouts besides all of them,... More

The service is awful. The lady at the desk was starring at me as I was choosing then she put everything in a paperbag and left! I asked for a "real" bag so she came back - without saying a word - gave me a bad look (and a plastic bag!) and disappear again! That's a shame because the chocolate... More

You expect more from Billy's...and you don't get it. Great concept for many treats. But they just aren't SWEET enough. That's coming from a sugar addict. And cupcake frosting is fine. But the cake is bland and dry. Sweeter...SWEETER!!!

Above-average bakery but not quite at the top of NYC's growing bakery list. Good enough. I quite enjoy the cookie sandwiches -- can't get those many places.

I walked by Billy's after dinner nearby. Went in to just look and left with the slice of cake I chose that looked like a piece of wedding cake that could feed at least eighteen people. Of course I ate the whole thing, delicious.

It's a good thing I am just visiting NYC as I would be in big trouble if Billy's was close to where I live instead of where I a staying on vacation. Stopped in here after dinner ( which I recommend as it may help to give you a bit of control in what you order). Ordered a slice of... More
