Prepare to wait- though hostess kindly had us sit at the bar(which was fun) on Saturday night. I suspect it is always busy, and for good reason. Portions are not large, so plan on several courses. Prices are NYC high. However, they offer fine different "takes' on the usual- their Caesar has a "bite", Tortilla soup is well beyond average.... More

Absolutely top draw Mexican food. From the spicy guac to the fruity cocktails to the delicious lobster tacos. Great menu, obviously very popular place. A stand out restaurant in mid town.

For a pre-theater meal, this is a great little place, with excellent food and charming, attentive wait-staff. Not much was vegan-friendly, but what there was, was delicious. The young woman at the desk met us with a bored hauteur, but once we were seated, the waiters were wonderful, efficient and attentive. Great food.

Not only food was excellent (guacamole, chips and salsa, grasshopper tacos, paella, shrimp and delicious chocolate cake and apple tart), service was unbeatable as well. To top it off, my wife dropped her iPhone, they found it, and waited for us late at night to come back and pick it up. Perfect after theater dinner place, not like all the other... More

Had a great dinner here. Place was full, saw them turn away a number of people, so make sure you reservations. Server was very helpful explaining the menu and what was spicy and what wasn't. Would definitely go back there again!

This was our first time at Toloache, and we'll definitely go back next time we're in NYC. The food is more traditional interior Mexican, as opposed to Tex-Mex, and it was great. Their house-made rojo (a little spicy compared to the others, but hardly a burner) guac was a good start, along with some spicy margaritas. Chips - and many... More

Amazing cocktails, great tacos and unusual food combinations which really worked. Really busy place but didn't take long to get a table. Having been to Mexico I thought the food was pretty authentic - it's pretty rubbish in the UK. So anyone that loves Mexican food should visit this place. Guacamole to die for!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
