Always a must go

It's official. Each time I visit NYC, I have to go to Pio Pio. The food is beyond delicious here. The Matador Combo is a great dish for a group of people. The chicken is very moist and has a wonderful marinade. The salchipapa is quite good as well, with the frankfurters and fries.

Try the anticuchos without puting too much into what they are... They were a delicious appetizer as well as the empanadas.. We ordered the lomo saltado which was top notch, our friends had the matador chicken... We felt so bad leaving food behind as it was so good. Such a great meal on or first night in NYC (Hell's Kitchen)

This restaurant is worth a visit especially if you are a fan of modern architecture. The design of the restaurant is clever eclectic and out of the ordinary. However the noise level is unbearable. If you need peace and quiet when dining this definitely is NOT your place to go.

If you get the chicken (which you should!!) be sure to get the garlic dipping sauce which elevates the chicken to another level

I reviewed this place a few years ago and loved it. We recently went back and it's still just as good. Here's what I said in 2013: "Fantastic food, friendly service and reasonable prices - a real find! It always seems to be crowded but it still manages a friendly, neighborhood ambiance. Portions are huge and come with sides so... More

The Juanita;s chicken is one of the best i have ever had and the Cerviche was superb. Great drinks, gorgeous atmosphere, waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommended and huge space that can accomodate large parties.

I have only been to the small,34th street location. Very casual and noisy, but I love this place! I always order the same thing; chicken, rice, beans and fried yucca. Now, before you judge all the carbs, its always after a hard workout, so I can actually enjoy my carb on carb dining experience and I take more than half... More

We ordered the empanada appetiser and the combo meal...the server was very friendly and tried to warn us that this would be a lot of food...we thought the normal size portions would be fine (whole chicken, rice, beans, maduros, and frankfurters/fries...but the amount of food barely fit on our 2 person table!! The empanadas were delicious, juicy, and the size... More

Nice location in a section a bit quieter than the 80's section of Amsterdam Avenue. Recommend the Rice with Seafood. Large portion, enough for two and brimming with fresh and delicious seafood. The atmosphere is very nice, on a corner with white linen table cloths and nice selection of authetic Peruvian dishes and a staff who is knowledgeable. It was... More
