You have to know Pio Pio is there, as the entrance is understated. The main dining is downstairs and is beautiful. The food is excellent and the Sangria is out of this world; a pitcher is worth it for two people. We shared the Pimiento Relleno, a delicious red pepper stuffed with meat and cheese, a roasted chicken and the... More

Enter through a nondescript doorway off of 10th Ave between 43rd and 44th Street and you have no clue that an architecturally impressive, cavernous dining hall awaits with terrific seafood and chicken dishes. The ceviche selections are excellent but it is hard to beat "Juanita's Chicken" for its succulent flavor. One whole chicken is more than enough for 2. Accompany... More

Great ceviche and tender chicken. But the place is absolutely toooo crowded. Unfortunately our waiter had no idea of Peruvian food (except the items on the menu) :(

Pio Pio was my first peruvian experience, and boy I had a great time there. The place is beautiful, but the detail that really capture my attention was the ceiling, it had a rustic look but was breathtakingly beautiful. The atmosphere is pleasant, it has an enchanting setting, and welcoming hosts. I really loved it, had a great time with... More

Happened upon PioPio for a business lunch close to Javits center. Looks a little small and dark from the outside but is quite magical. Host escorted us past the bar to a huge downstairs room with bamboo covered walls, Server Smair was wonderful and patient as we had many questions on the menu.Food highlights were, Empanadas, Corvina a lo Macho... When I lived in NYC and was a medical student in spanish harlem, we called the pio pio "crack chicken". Hardly an exaggeration! Now that I live far away I still make pilgramage to pio pio anytime I'm back home. Love the standard lunch special with the maduros, chicken, and often I will add the avocado salad - yum. Last... Not only did they have a variety of Pisco Sour drinks and sangria but the food was fantastic! I dined at the Manhattan location, I loved the décor and trendy feel of the restaurant. We started off with the ceviche which a signature seafood Peruvian dish as an appetizer. I ordered the sea bass and my guest had the lomo... More

This is a Peruvian restaurant. I think it is part of a small chain in the New York City. This location was in Hell's Kitchen. Great meal and service. The appetizers were a fantastic start. We had a stuffed avocado, it was stuffed with shrimp, shallots, tomato's and served with a cilantro sauce. We also had fried calamari that tasted... More
