Food is absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend the Matador Combo. That combo plus one other decent-sized plate can easily feed four people. And their sangria is fantastic as well.

Specializing in authentic Peruvian cuisine, this restaurant offers a wide variety of different dishes to tantalize your palate. I was seated more or less in the center of the restaurant and was fortunate to see a variety of mouth-watering dishes being served to other guests. My meal was an herbed corvina (a white fish) served over a bed of mashed... More

An outstanding place for drinks and food. The place was lively and drinks like Pisco, shangria's were well made. Enjoyed the appetizers and main course.. The main course was a tad spicy and large sized. Plated colorfully. A must visit for all

I ate at Pio Pio for the second time in as many years yesterday, and don't know why I haven't been back sooner! Like the last time I was here, I ordered two Matador Combos, which were more than enough to fully feed (with some leftovers) my party of eight. For those who are unfamiliar with the Matador Combo, it... More

Came as a tourist while visiting friends living in Wallkill New York. Love the décor and the lively crowd. Food would have been bland except for the sauces that they provided, so it is a good place to take family who may not enjoy the spicier side of Peruvian food. It is a large dining room on two levels and... More

Hidden in Hell's Kitchen area is a really great Peruvian dining experience. I went for a friends birthday surprise , staff was great. Food is very reasonable and the chicken is fantastic. Atmosphere was unique with the walls covered in tree limbs! You have to look hard for this place or just look for the line . A great place... More

This is for pio pio on 94thw and Broadway, Upper west side. It was busy at 1800 when I walked past and still busy when I went back 3hours later. Being alone I was able to walk straight in and sit at the bar to eat. I've never eaten Peruvian food and didn't know what to expect except that I'd... More

This place has a nice vibe, with what appeared to be a nice mix of locals (some with families) and tourists. The hostess greeted us with a smile and our server was very helpful. Our orders arrived promptly. That said, the food did not meet our expectations as it was rather bland (we each had corvina). Servings are quite large.

You have to know Pio Pio is there, as the entrance is understated. The main dining is downstairs and is beautiful. The food is excellent and the Sangria is out of this world; a pitcher is worth it for two people. We shared the Pimiento Relleno, a delicious red pepper stuffed with meat and cheese, a roasted chicken and the... More

Enter through a nondescript doorway off of 10th Ave between 43rd and 44th Street and you have no clue that an architecturally impressive, cavernous dining hall awaits with terrific seafood and chicken dishes. The ceviche selections are excellent but it is hard to beat "Juanita's Chicken" for its succulent flavor. One whole chicken is more than enough for 2. Accompany... More
