I had their specials of the day- sautéed scallops with mashed yucca, and, for the main course, baked fillet mignon in black pepper sauce. Both were heavenly. I just wish I hadn't been seated relatively close to the door since it was frigid outside. The prices were fairly substantial: $16 for the scallops appetizer and $34 for the fillet. But... More

My husband and I live in the neighborhood. This is our go-to restaurant. The roasted chicken is fabulous. You can't go wrong with their staple dish (chicken pio). I've eaten there so many times and I've never had a bad meal. Service is good but they sometimes need a reminder when you ask for something like extra sauce but not... More

The special lunch is not on the menu. You need to ask the waiter for it. In this restaurant which is a good deal the special is the best buy. You get chicken, sides, salad and they even throw in a soda.

I've visited several of their locations within the city, but this was the best experience!! The location is "small" but large enough, if you don't enjoy a large group of people around you. If you're familiar with the brand, then you know the food selection & presentation excellent! Visit them, you're have a great time.

We went here after a concert at Symphony Space. It is a chain in NY and has Peruvian food. Tables are close together and it was pretty noisy but the food was really good. Both of us really enjoyed it a lot. I had a shrimp dish that was really gray. Although a chain restaurant is not my first choice,... More

We met some family who live in NY here for lunch on the 2nd Jan. What a place! We ordered two platters, not sure of the names, but they were delicious. Great chicken, fries, salad and more importantly Sangria. Will defiantly be going back when in NY again.

We visited Peru a few years ago, staying mostly in the Andes, and I loved that rustic cooking. I was looking forward to trying Pio Pio to see how it compared. The food at Pio Pio is heavily fish-based, not the same cuisine as in the Andees, more like Lima. We had good meals--pollo and ceviche. The food, however, didn't... More

My wife is from the country of Peru. When we went there to eat, my wife and I could not believe that everything was actually from her country. We had a rotisserie chicken (pollo a la brasa) along with some cusqueña beer. We missed having food like that.

This restaurant was around the corner from our hotel, so with nothing more than proximity to draw us in, we gave it a try. The staff were friendly, but the food was just average. Perhaps the dishes we tried were not their best. We won't return. There are too many other really good places in New York.
