Excellent food and lovely views

We went to celebrate a special occasion and we weren't disappointed. The staff were attentive and helpful although service sometimes slipped from relaxing to slow. Food and wine were both excellent although the bill came to $150 each for a meal and half a bottle of wine. It's an expensive treat but... read more

Came here for my birthday with the hubby! Didn't realize it was restaurant week so that was a plus! Great food for a great price. I was disappointed that we did not have a window seat as the hostess told us she would move us to one once it opened up. 5 minutes after we sat down one opened and... More

This restaurant has all the makings of a disappointment- one can reasonably expect small, mediocre and way overpriced meals in exchange for the amazing views of midtown Manhattan's skyline. As it turns out, only part of that is true- the meals are indeed expensive. But everything else? Prepare yourself for a wonderful experience. Our first visit a couple of years... More

This place is a little hard to find. You have to find the special "The View" express elevator on the 3rd floor of the hotel to get in. We went after a Broadway show for a drink. There was an $8 cover and the prices were high. Food was a buffet so we did not partake. The view is spectacular,... More

My boyfriend came from England and I took him to The View for dinner and it was an amazing experience. The actual view of the city was awesome and the food was even better. It was also resturant week so there was a three course prefixed menu. Would def go back.

Booked the day before and enjoyed a fabulous meal for my mother's 80th birthday. Really lovely staff, excellent service, superb views and wonderful food from the less expensive set price menu. I paid extra for a filet steak - well worth it.

The Sunday Brunch may be considered pricey, however compared to many NYC brunches, this is a nice option. Service was warm and greeting. Table cleared and 2 included mimosas brought in a timely manner. Food stations well displayed and kept full and fresh, lettuce crates interesting display. Griddle cakes perfectly done, again friendly greeting by the employee. While it takes... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
