This is one of the most authentic Cuban Restaurants in the Big Apple offering home style traditional Cuban dishes. Highly recommend the Ropa Vieja dish, a Cuban specialty of shredded beef stewed in a tomato sauce with onions, garlic and other spices served with black beans and rice. The Vaca Frita is another favorite translated as Fried Cow in English.... More

Went for dinner at this restaurant which is a couple of streets parallel to the restaurant Row of NYC and service and food was excellent. The wine list on offer was very affordable (considering new york prices). For starter we had pork tamale (to die for), main had a sort of seafood platter which was also excellent. When we went... While on vacation, I will often look for experiences that help me understand and define the character of the city that I'm visiting. After living in New York for over 10 yrs, I realize that I definitely take the City for granted and have not delved into finding its heartbeat as much as I would when visiting a new location.... Nice, moderately priced cuban restaurant in midtown. The food was well prepared and authentic. The server wasn't helpful or friendly which detracted from the experience. We also did not stay for the cuban band which started around 8.

Some reviewers called it pricey. Earlier reviewers complained of other things. I don't review a lot because I work in Manhattan and usually leave the NYC yelping to tourists. However, we were pleased to find a good place for a pre or after theater dinner, this time near Studio 54 which is a block away. It's actually a very reasonable... More

We came here on a saturday night and they managed to squeeze us in to a small but cosy table! The service was quick. Mojito was ok, but seems a tad pricey at $12 each - they were nothing special. Food was nice, we had empanadas and croquettes for starter, which were fairly standard. For mains, i had suckling pig,... More

We had dinner with two friends at Guantanamera near Central Park. It serves fine Caribbean cuisine at reasonable prices. I started out with a jalapeño margarita and a bowl of creole chicken soup (chicken soup with vegetables and avocado), both of which were very good. The vegetarian paella is amazing! Everyone in our party raved about the entrees. we were... More

Went for lunch and met the expectations for a good Cuban sandwich, Cuban steak sandwich and tostones con mojo. Service was a bit too rushed at first but settled down further into the meal. Would consider going back to try some of the appetizers and entrees for dinner.

We stopped for dinner around 9 pm on a Friday night with another couple. The place was pretty busy and dark with tables very close together. Not a date place given the noise level is extremely loud. The cuban dishes were excellent and were delivered on a timely basis.Prices are not cheap. The server was friendly and competent although kind... More

I went here on a date night with my boyfriend, and the food was deeeeeeeelisious! it's genuine Cuban cuisine along side live Latin music, and and delightful pitcher of white Sangria... I enjoyed listening to the bongs play, viewing the patrons dance, and just enjoying the evening with my boyfriend, HOWEVER the atmosphere IS loud, so there isn't room for... More
