We arrived with 15 people early on a Saturday evening and the staff were kind enough to open a room downstairs. The Cuban food was fantastic. At $22-$29 for entrees, the price was appropriate for NYC, but alcoholic drinks were very expensive ($11 for a glass of Sangria).

We dropped by relatively early on a Saturday evening with a group of 15 people. They opened the room downstairs and we had amazing meals. At $22-29 for an entrée the price is good for NYC. But the alcoholic drinks are rather expensive.

Good cuban food is comfort food and Guantanermera brings that comfortable good food to a somewhat crowded and loud NYC choice. The food choices are great to go along with the standard cuban favorites. The Mojitos are Great! Deserts were worth skipping the appetizers for. Just be prepared for loud music from the speakers even before the band. It's not... More

I purchased a Groupon for this place in anticipation for my trip to NYC. The food was really good and fresh. I had the fried pork and my husband had a chicken entree. This was our first meal in NYC during our first trip to NYC. They have set the bar high for subsequent meals. Perfect location near Times Square.

Excellent Cuban Restaurant. You can consume good food and drinking and listen nice Cuban music also. I went with my husband and closest friends. We had a really great time together. We dance a lot. I will recommend the ROPA VIEJA plate. Definitely I will visit again.

I've traveled several times to Cuba for professional reasons, and while I don't claim to be an expert on Cuban cuisine, what I do know leads me to comment VERY favorably on what Guantanamera has to offer. We arrived without reservations on a Saturday night around 7:15, and were seated promptly at a two-person table and were promptly greeted by... More

We took a chance...Guantanamera had a reservation for 10 available through OpenTable last night at 7:00. No simple task during Christmas in the city. Well not only were we not disappointed, we were thrilled by the experience. The service was very good, drinks were great, food was amazing and the live music was fantastic to boot. The location is really... More

My wife and I loving coming here prior to going to a Broadway show. It is far enough from the theatre district that we avoid the overcrowded restaurants, but only about a 10 minuute walk to most theatres. The restaurant doesn't usually start filling up until about 6:30-7 pm, so pre- theater availability is usually not a problem. The food... More
