Good Cuban but a Loud

Went for a late dinner with another couple on a Friday night. While they took reservations the table was about 30 minutes late. No worries as the spot was jumping. A live band played great Cuban tunes but given the size of this restaurant it was way too loud to connect with others. We were offered... read more

My initial impressive was great but my server was awful. He was obviously very popular with the locals because he stopped mid sentence telling me about drink specials to laugh and joke for about 5 minutes. I never received water. I had to ask for a part of my meal that was missing, three times. He NEVER asked if we... More

This was our favorite meal while we visited the city. We live by a good Cuban place and this one blew it away. We ate there for dinner and were surprised for as good as it was that there were very little patrons. Nice atmosphere, attentive service, and a fantastic meal! Kudos to the chef and staff.

Finally, after 30 years of searching I found a Cuban sandwich done properly. My first was in Puerto rico and i couldn't have enough. I would always order a Cuban sandwich when I see it on the menu or when I go to a Cuban restaurant. I've been to several in Florida including Miami, Cocoa Beach, etc. I saw the... More

We had a fabulous dinner at Guantanamera at very reasonable prices. We had an early dinner because of theater tickets and the service was excellent. Started off with mojitos that were some of the best we have had! For a starter, we had the Tostones Rellenos which were very tasty and well prepared. Dinner consisted of Corvina Al Estilo Hemingway,... More

This upbeat fun Cuban restaurant serves up some great food at reasonable prices. I had the seafood paella washed down with some good Cuban style beer. They feature live music Friday and Saturday nights. Also a big plus? A cigar roller wrapping some tasty complimentary cigars what a treat. ..great food good drinks and a tasty smoke to go! Don't... Great service, very good food, nice decoration and live music as a bonus! Overall a great Cuban experience. The only thing I would ask for is a bit more space around the table. The couple eating next to us was very nice but we were feeling that we all had dinner together! Would definitely go there again.

My family is very picky. My cousin recommended this gem and after going once, we are hooked! We frequent this lovely establishment often and love it. I love the bands and the atmosphere. I have been here with a small group and in larger groups. The service is incomparable and the food is consistently DELICIOSO. if you are on a... More

Had made a reservation for this restaurant on the day I travelled from Las Vegas to New York for 9pm in the evening. Only problem was that this was Superbowl Sunday, so when I arrived I was the onlyone dining!! Was eventually joined in the restaurant by another couple and a single diner- neednt have bothered making a reservation. Still... More

We arrived with 15 people early on a Saturday evening and the staff were kind enough to open a room downstairs. The Cuban food was fantastic. At $22-$29 for entrees, the price was appropriate for NYC, but alcoholic drinks were very expensive ($11 for a glass of Sangria).

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
