Good cuban food a bit too noisy

Excellent mojito (be careful when ordering a pitcher), i really enjoyed the ropa vieja and some desserts were tasteful. Very good service in spanish and english. Very good place indeed the only problem (for us) was the nice music, too loud for a couples dinner and music wasn't always cuban.

The place serves propably the best mojito outside of Cuba. I have not been to Cuba myself but this is what I believe in. Damn good mojitos. They are very potent in alcohol content. Also watch out for the caipirinhas, they can be lethal. The bartenders are social and very friendly. They also have a happy hour, most of the... More

This Restaurant is Ok! Music was pretty good started @ 9pm. The Coconut Mojito is the bomb - Love it! What I didn't like is that the food was in small portion for the price & also the plates they served us in were dirty!

My husband and I happened upon this restaurant while shopping. It was pretty busy, and that's always a good sign. We decided to stop, and we were very glad we did. My husband had the chuletas and hardly spoke to me while he ate. I had the ropa vieja, and it was outstanding. A wonderful eatery well worth the visit.... More

Worth 4.5 stars! Excellent food and appetizers. Cozy atmosphere. We did not stay for the music. Everything we had had a twist. Sometimes simplicity (black bean soup). The paella had a stock type made that definitely needs to get soaked into you rice to really enjoy the meal!

Not a place for a quiet meal I suspect. From the moment of stepping through the door, the bustling atmosphere envelopes you. Low lighting, cheerful murals of Cuban life as you hope it is, and several large groups soon makes you feel like you just might be in Havana. There is a stage at the back. Instruments were ready and... More

Best dining experience on my first New York visit. Not only was the food amazing but the atmosphere was great! We started off with the empanadas and for my main course I had the ropa vieja. All of it was super tasty! The restaurant is intimate and that really created a great environment for the live band. I can't imagine... More

The 3-course lunch menu here is delicious and only $16 per person, a real bargain anywhere, but especially New York City. there are several choices of each course and the two alternatives we chose of each course we're very good. Also, there was more food than either of us could eat. the service was excellent with our server constantly refilling... More

loved the cubanos sandwich though it wasn't as spicy as i imagined it to be on seeing 'Chef' :) There's great salsa on Fridays and Saturdays! And live music!

Solid food (basic Spanish, not so much Cuban as advertised), tables just a wee bit too close to each other. We dropped in for a quick bite - shared salad (mediocre), yuca con mojo (mmmm) and vaca frita (superb - shredded grilled skirt steak).

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
