Still a fun place to take out of town guests

We like to take our younger friends here, especially those under 21, but really the food is not kids food, per se. You feel as if you are walking into Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but it is fun AND good food.

If you really love chocolate this is a must to visit. Their dessert menu ranges from floats, sundaes to chocolate pizzas. They also have wonderful hot chocolate drinks. I had green tea with white chocolate melted chunks. They use very unique glasses also to serve their drinks in to make sure the chocolate melts just the right way. We did... More

I liked the atmosphere of the place, very nice with the pipes running over the bar. The choclate drinks were creamy, but very heavy

Overall my experience at Max Brenner was extremely sub par. The party of eight sitting next to us were loud and drunk, and nothing was said even though it was clear they were disturbing everyone on the second floor. Next, it was cold and rainy that day and the window had a draft, either that or they are using their... More

Epic chocolate, especially the chocolate syringe. You do really get high on chocolate here. A must visit, but reservations in advance is recommended.

We ate here for brunch and the food is absolutely amazing. The waffles and berries are delicious with an amazing chocolate sauce. The waitress we had was fun and bubbly and made our visit even better. My only regret is not coming later to taste the chocolate fondue or one of the incredible looking crepes. I would highly recommend making... More

Visited here in February 2015 and came in without a reservation in the hope of a table. The pleasant lady said it would be 30 minutes maximum and we were welcome to wait in the entrance area. Great we thought. We were 2 adults and one excited 10 year old. As we were waiting different groups came in and we... More

The food is awesome. The attention was great, our waiter was very attentive and for a Sunday at lunch time we didn’t had to wait long. The place is very nice. I really recommend it!

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
