BENJAMIN’S STEAKHOUSE: OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME

When I heard that my Sister-in-Law was taking her sister to NYC for a birthday weekend and wanted to go to Benjamin’s, I just had to sneak into the City myself. The atmosphere is old world sophistication while still being welcoming and relaxing. We enjoyed a fresh, tasty starter salad with crab; melt-in-your-mouth steak; and perfectly seasoned mushrooms. The presentation of the food and the level of service were both impeccable. It was a fantastic meal and a memorable experience. For us, this NYC Steakhouse experience will be the one to... More

I've been eating faithfully at Benjamins since they opened almost 10 years ago. The place is aging like a very fine wine. Outstanding Steak - get the porterhouse, home fries, spinach (creamed or sautéed), well done onions, shrimp cocktail, bacon (well - done and 1 for every diner at the table), tomato and onions, blue cheese (crumbled and dressing) -... Overall experience was very good. The head waiter was well versed and an excellent ambassador for the Benjamin. Food was fantastic and service by a well appointed team was second to none. My clients were very satisfied and impressed by the restaurant from entering until departure.

Obviously when in NYC have a number of fine dining / steak houses to choose from. We decided to give Benjamin's a try (was a business meeting). We were not disappointed!! Was in NYC with my daughter and we had received a recommendation from our hotel that they were close by and served a nice steak. My daughter had the filet mignon and I had lamb. Both were perfectly done. The restaurant can get loud as it has high ceilings and the waiters were good but not exceptional. Expect to pay... More
