A pricey, excellent meal

We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard on at 5th and east 40th. We asked the concierge for a dinner suggestion our first night and Benjamin’s is where he sent us. He got us a reservation and told us that jeans and T-shirts were fine. Wow, did we feel underdressed. The crowd was mostly suits... read more

We were recommended Benjamin by the hotel and by and large it was a very enjoyable meal. I had the Bone In Ribeye and it was executed well. The char was perfect, it was cooked well, the quality of the steak itself wasn't the best Ribeye I had ever had..but it certainly hit the spot. The sides were as expected..... More

I prefer fish over steak......but I have to say my meal at Benjamin's was fantastic. The service was superb, the steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the atmosphere was interesting. We had read reviews to order the creamed spinach and I will say it was absolutely superb. I'd go there again just for the spinach. The rolls and... More

Our concierge recommended this as New York's best steakhouse, conveniently close to our hotel as well. We were not disappointed, the steak (New York Sirloin) was cooked as ordered and of excellent quality. Also loved the creamed spinach on the side. Very satisfying meal. Service was friendly and efficient as well.

Benjamin Steakhouse serve huge portions. We had the steak plate for two which was part sirloin and part T-bone. It really was enough for 3 people as we couldn't finish our meal. The lady on the next table to us ordered the lamb rack and her plate was so full that there was hardly any room for her vegetables. The... More

My husband and I had dinner here and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had! My husband raved about his sea bass! The baked potato was huge. The manager Johnnie came around checking on things during dinner and even gave us a free drink at the end of the meal. The dinner was expensive but well worth... More

If you're American, a business person and wear a suit this is the place for you! However, if you're a tourist who doesn't often pack a dinner jacket for holidays then there's a good chance you will feel a little isolated!! Over from the UK for a week, we went to celebrate my Dad's 60th Birthday and very quickly it... More

If you want a good steak, this is your place. It has an old-school look and feel, and they know their meat. Their portions are very large, so be warned. But the food was excellent. We each had the same meal - started with a caesar salad followed by filet mignon and fries (frites). We shared a dessert and it... More

We visited for a special occasion, the restaurant had kindly arranged for flowers to be waiting at the table. The atmosphere was great, we were tucked away in a corner which was perfect for us. The service was second to none and staff went above and beyond. The food was very tasty, and we both managed to finish our plates.... More

This is a high end restaurant so don't visit if you're on a budget. We loved it, our steaks were cooked to perfection, service was impeccable and the atmosphere was relaxed. We all finished everything on our plates and would go again, it's worth the price.

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown.
