Expensive but worth it

We got the hotel to book us a nice steak house for our last night in New York - we were delighted with their choice. We arrived for our 9pm reservation a little early and had a drink at the bar whilst waiting for the table which was a little late in being ready, but i didn't find this as... read more

Juicy and cooked as requested (medium). The atmosphere is typical steakhouse, wooden tables and high sealing. Employees were very pleasant.

I was undecided between 4 and 5 stars. With so many good steak houses in the area it is hard to emerge to the top. But the highlights of this place that distinction bruised it from the others come from a great mixed steaks plate that we shared for the table. Filet, ribs, prime rib, lobster. All excellent and offering... More

We were recommended Benjamins steak house (in the Dylan Hotel) by a NYC local (which was someone we knew). They sat us on the second floor and it was very lovely. Great ambiance, food and service. All top notch. Everything was ala-carte and it was just so good. The bathrooms are located quite far away and you have to walk... More

On our third night of a 4 night NYC trip I wanted to find a nice steak house. After lots of google searches, I settled on Benjamin's, rated #1 by one of the top local sites. Booked via Open Table at 5 for a 8:00 meal on a Tuesday ((thanks Trip Advisor!). Got there wearing shorts and hats, so we... More

Beautiful, exquisite decor. Properly trained and friendly staff. If you are a carnivore, and red meat is your thing, you better not miss this place for a top shelf steak.

I don't know if the assessments are paid because the evening was baffling. I ask for a dry wine and they served me one ..... fruity. dishes are served at the speed of a fast food .... we ordered a birthday cake that there has been increased quickly without warning ..... the quality of food and preparation at all lofty... As the title says - best steak ever - so far:) Not cheap but certainly get what you pay for. Experience and quality of both service and food were something to remember.

The food was good. The steak was very good, but it's no Peter Luger. Service is pretty poor from the minute you walk in right up until you leave. Seating is one step above a cafeteria. The more I type the more disappointed I get in the memory.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
