No matter how short my visit, I always have a quick meal here. Always fresh, always tasty, reasonable price and attentive service. My first choice in the curry hill area. Try the papyri chat, the bhel puri, and of course the dosas.

An Indian friend took me here so I figured I was in for a treat and they didn't disappoint. I'm not familiar with Indian cuisine so I can't comment on specific dishes, but everything I tried was excellent. The service was great. Coffee was delicious.

This place serves some of the best South Indian food I've ever eaten. I'm there almost every weekend. Some dishes are weekend specials only; for instance, the Pongal-Vada which was even better before it became part of "Chennai Garden" was the absolute best I've tasted. Masala Dosa, Idli-Vada etc. all good. Sambar and chutney also nice with the right amount... More

I was turned on to this place by an Indian friend of mine. It is vegetarian only, though the food is so good you won’t miss the meat. I have been several times and tried different dishes, though have not yet found a thing I didn’t enjoy. They have a buffet that I am told is fantastic, not like other... More

We went for an Indian dinner. One of the best Indian restaurants, IMO, fantastic food at a great price. I go to Tiffin Wallah every time I visit NYC.

The food was bland in general and the dosa burnt. Low quality fast food. I don't care about service which is good because there was none.

I love this restaurant its atmosphere where things are low key but not low standard among a very international group of patrons (UN nearby). The food is very good, particularly the dosas or if you want more variety, the thali platter. Great place to take anyone from family to business clients.

Nothing bad about the food, but nothing spectacular, and no extras such as papadams, chutneys that are provided in many Indian restaurants. The spices were toned down for the American palate, and the service was just so-so. The decibel level was intense, and the tables are crowded close together. Probably fine for lunch buffet, but I wouldn't go back to... More

If you are in Manhattan and want to eat good vegetarian food do visit this place. They serve amazingly good food at a very cost effective price. We ordered their famous South Indian food- Dosa, idli, etc which was served very quickly and tastes great. Excellent food & service. We also had dinner at Sarvana Bhavan there in Manhattan but... Before arriving in New York I had planned to visit all the vegetarian restaurants in New York, however after visiting this place on the first day I came back four times. Excellent food and excellent service, food was made to our specific religious dietary. I would recommend the Gujarati thali. Excellent location and very good restaurant for any Indian vegetarians.
