Wow, I have never done this.

We walked and were immediately seated with menus. Waited 5, maybe 8 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and then 3 more tables walked and received menus AND a server! What? Were we invisible? Got up and left! Meh, there's a lot of places to eat breakfast on 9th ave in NYC!

Had a hankering for a late night omlette one night so tried this place. Good value for money and the staff were friendly. Went back the next morning and got another omlette, fruit, cereal, pancakes and coffee. Wasnt overly cheap but then again its NYC. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quick feed in Midtown.

If you are looking for a place on the Upper East Side late at night, the Morning Star Café is a great place to go. There is a good variety of food ranging from breakfast, to sandwiches to full dinners. The service is fast and the prices are relatively low.

We hit up this place at a ridiculously early hour of a cold January morning, and were welcomed with ever-flowing coffee and a breakfast menu packed to the gills with choice. Pancakes; French toast; waffles; burgers; fries; bagels; eggs; salads... It's all here. Service was fine and the food delicious, keeping us topped up well into the day. A true... More

This is a great little diner in Midtown East. It appeared that most people were locals but there were a few of us obvious tourists in there as well. The restaurant looked full, but luckily we were quickly seated. I had the salmon and onion omelette. It came with a generous portion of home fries and toast....and it was excellent,... More

We had a great breakfast here. Typical food choices for a café/diner. We had bagel sandwich, pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. Everything was fresh and hot. Service was good. Will come back next time.

Went for mid morning breakfast with family of 5. Great service, good food and amazing pancakes! We were a little squeezed in the booth (with a chair at the end) but good service and food helps!

Ate here twice for breakfast on my recent visit. The first morning the service was a little slow even though they weren't terribly busy. Food was great though. Had the 7 grain French toast which was very hearty. Loved the bottle of Canadian maple syrup on every table. Second morning service was a little better and I had the standard... More

I found this place on trip advisor. We were looking to tuck into a stack of waffles, french toast, bacon and maple syrup ... you know the sort of thing. Movie style cardiac mischief on a plate. This place was everything we expected, local people, friendly staff, bustling, not a chain ... brilliant. We had a full on breakfast for... More

went here 5 out of 6 mornings we were in new York we wanted to eat (As most tourist I'm sure do) at a diner as seen on TV, and we were not disappointed. service was quick and food was good (Recommend the cornbeef hash or omelettes). Only slight criticism is that the food is not always piping hot but... More

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
