Great first breakfast in the States

My husband and I were recommended this cafe for breakfast on our first morning in NYC, and we weren't disappointed! We both had the pancakes with syrup and my husband had extra poached eggs. The diner is a classic style of decor, and of eating, and this diner did not let us down. Good service and good food, though far too much. Vegetables were slightly over done but the fish and the fries were excellent. Bring back the diners!

We walked west, past the Warner center at Columbus Circle looking for a place to eat. Found it! A small, open, bright dining room, quick service, dynamite olive-bread with the salad, and a very tasty, very attractive entre's. And prices were such a relief from most of Manhattan!

Huge portions of classic fattening american breakfast selection. Efficient service. Dreadful toilets.

The food here was delicious. I had the Philly cheese steak wrap with sweet potato fries and it was yummy. The only reason I gave it 4/5 was because our waitress was miserable and inattentive - her service would have been rude in the UK, so by U.S. standards it was pretty shoddy. But hey - great diner food! I... More

A group of 8 of us went to breakfast and went to Morning Star upon recommendation from our hotel. It was very good and so fast. I ordered a typical breakfast and the sausage was the star! Hash browns were made with fresh cut sliced potatoes. They were great about getting us separates checks also. Great food and service.

I was here twice, one for breakfast and the other for dinner. It's a little typical american cafeteria. The meal is delicious and cheap, you can find variety, for all tastes. It has bathrooms and it's 24 hours! This last one feature is very helpful, because is difficult to find a good place to eat at dawning. It's one of... More

I'm a sucker for a good diner, and this one is great - huge menu serving everything from fruit salad to hearty breakfasts to a vast array of sandwiches - the sweet potato fries were awesome, if only the coleslaw had been a bigger portion - the only thing that wasn't big enough. Even the coffee was good. I had... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
