But I did not...We dined here on a Friday night and made the reservation 2 months ahead for 6:45. We had asked for a quiet table but were seated right next to the bar. When we inquired about something more quiet, we were shown to a different table - on the other side of the bar. The comment was made... More

My wife and I had dinner at Gato on January 28th. It was a great experience. We ordered appetizers from the bar menu and the spreads. All were delicious. My wife had the orata as an entree and I had the pork chop. All were fantastic. But you have to like well seasoned and somehat spicy food. Ben, our waiter,... More

Anticipating a busy night, we made reservations for Gato a couple weeks in advance, but that night we wouldn't have needed to. There was lots of space available and I noticed a few walk-ins as well. I can talk about the atmosphere (and the fact there was a famous author there the night we were) but it is really much... More

I was a piece on Bobby Flay on CBS Sunday morning. I knew that we were going to NYC for a visit a month so I made a reservation. I have never been to a celebrity chef's restaurant, but this one lived up and exceeded it. The scrambled egg appetizer was out of this world. The wine was outstanding and... More

Unique dishes, affordable wine list, and vibrant crowd made for an enjoyable midweek dining experience for our table of six. The mushroom and kale paella is excellent, highly recommend. Octopus appetizer was also quite good. Some of the dishes lean to the spicy side so be sure to check with your server if that is a concern of yours. Reservations... More

Now I understand why Bobby Flay is as popular as he is. What a culinary journey from the gourmet bar bites that compell you to try the appetizers and the entrees. Each dish felt like it was made expecially for you - its like going to a sade concert and thinking she is singing to just you. From bar bites,... More

Perhaps my expectations were too high. I had read so much about Gato and its amazing paella that I thought it would be spectacular. It was fine - not great. The paella is a very small serving and the space is very drafty. No real criticism - I just expected more. The waiters were awesome though.

We went to Gato for an early Sunday dinner. Service was very attentive, and I was impressed by the number of staff. The 'bar' menu offers a diverse selection of 'tapas' with something for everyone. I would definitely recommend the eggplant, Brussels sprouts, and paella. Dishes were very rich in flavor! The experience definitely left me wanting to come back... More

For our date nite my husband and I picked the much louded Gato. We heard about it from TV and people. It's a beautiful place and the staff is very, very nice however the food was a big disappointment . The duck and pork chop were ordinary.and very salty. I just don't understand why in the United States chefs salt... More

We were looking forward to eating at this restaurant for months before our trip to NY and we were not disappointed. Staff, food and ambience were great. Highly recommend.
