Great place - local to where we were staying

Great place. Fancied a burger after all the walking of the day and it did not disappoint. The addition of Gruyere and bacon was a good option. Quirky interior, excellent staff and service. All great. Shared a cheese plate for second course - more than enough food. Bill was dollars 90 each. Not... read more

We had wanted to try this place for some time but were disappointed. Staff were nice and cheery, but the food was a let-down - too many flavors. no clear theme. Despite its name it was generic rather than French despite small intimations otherwise (mirepoix!). It's part of a small chain - I'd go to Cafe Luxembourg instead.

Breakfast with the Locals. Service quick and cheerful. Refill tea and handmade hot chocolate. Both breakfasts- avocado breakfast and clubs breakfast perfect size and taste. Well priced and trendy decor.

Food quality very good and a nice ambience. Was rather surprised though at the prices for an establishment in this area of Manhattan. A bit too expensive. Wine not cheap either.

I was in NYC for 3 weeks during the holidays and I ate here 4 times. First was for brunch and my friend and I shared the Cluny Burger. You have the option to add bacon and cheese from a selection, so apple wood bacon and blue cheese were a perfection addition. You also have the option to switch your... More

I went to Cafe Cluny for lunch: the food was really good and tasty, as well as the cocktails we ordered. The place was packed solid since it was on a Saturday. The nice thing about it is that you can also go there for a cafe or order something at the bar. Waiters were good, though not the best... More

Great meal! We had an 8:15pm reservation on a Friday night. You will definitely want a reservation if you are headed here on a weekend evening--the place was packed, in that cozy New York, make-sure-you-don't-hit-the-other-table-as-you-take-your-seat kind of way. It had a great atmosphere! There is a (subtle) botanical theme to the decor, wood floors, etc.; it felt homey and neighborhoody--a... More

I had lunch at Cafe Cluny and adored it!! I went there for lunch and had a simple meal...the BLT in a panini with fries. It may not be a complex dish but it was excellent and the fries were great also. I sat at the bar and the only negative comment I have is the service. The bartender was... More

It was early Saturday evening and we were able to be immediately seated at a window-table w/o prior reservations. The atmosphere was cozy and warm on a very cold evening in N.Y.C. and our server was very professional and friendly. We had a very tasty prix fix dinner and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on our last night in N.Y.C. during the... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
