A nice place for a coffee and cake

We had a very nice cup of coffee and some good cake in a nice setting here. Surrounding is interesting to walk around. While in NY it's often Starbucks or really ugly filter coffee, we were happy here. The cakes were innovative. Coming from the Black Forest, the Black Forest cherry cake variation... read more

I went there with my boyfriend and family to have a sunday brunch! It was great. In the middle of west village... Great coffee. I had the french toast and the others took the avocado toast! Everything was perfect! The place is very cosy and chic!

Loved it here. Really hip area. Food was absolutely lush (Club sandwiches were the best). Great coffee, great T. Great service. Worth paying that bit extra for.

We ducked into Cafe Cluny for a late lunch and were very happy we did. I had the Ahi Tuna Burger and fries and a delicious, crisp glass of wine and my friend had the burger. They were both very tasty. Since I'm from the beach area and eat a lot of fresh fish, this Ahi burger was up there... More

It's a cute trendy place to have lunch in a nice neighborhood but you may find it a little pricey for what it is. The service is not too coordinated and some of the dishes seem pricey for what it is like the shrimp salad: green leaves and 3 happy shrimps chilling on top... Not too shabby. The Cluny burger... The prices are very high compared to other restaurants around. Understandably you pay a premium for organic food but what used to be the norm is now a privilege. The food is tasty however but given 15 dollar approx for a glass of wine is a little exagerrated. Also a glass of juice for 11 dollar is a bit of... More

We had wanted to try this place for some time but were disappointed. Staff were nice and cheery, but the food was a let-down - too many flavors. no clear theme. Despite its name it was generic rather than French despite small intimations otherwise (mirepoix!). It's part of a small chain - I'd go to Cafe Luxembourg instead.

Food quality very good and a nice ambience. Was rather surprised though at the prices for an establishment in this area of Manhattan. A bit too expensive. Wine not cheap either.

Great place. Fancied a burger after all the walking of the day and it did not disappoint. The addition of Gruyere and bacon was a good option. Quirky interior, excellent staff and service. All great. Shared a cheese plate for second course - more than enough food. Bill was dollars 90 each. Not the cheapest of meals but a great... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
