Not too bad

I probably wouldn't go here again if I was ever in New York again. It felt like the staff were watching us the entire time. But the portions were huge and value for money.

Doesn't look great from the outside but it's a hidden gem in NYC. Amazing food and great service. Lots of variety to choose from. The Hot and Sour soup is fresh and delicious, lots of entree options for anybody including great vegetarian options.

We really enjoyed the food - I had Thai Pad. Good food and lots of it. Service was excellent and we thought the prices were great especially since there was so much food and it was so good! Can't go wrong here!

My girlfriend a I was here the other night for dinner as the restaurant looked cozy and was close to our hotel. Great atmosphere and the staff was warm and welcoming. Not much people I the restaurant on that evening so the food came quick and fresh. Large portions and great taste. Would have been a four star rating it... More

This restaurant is located on the ground level of Best Western President Hotel. The restaurant is small and cozy. We ordered the Spicy and Tasty chicken, Chicken and Vegetable noodles, beef pho and crispy spring rolls. Everything was good, except for the chicken noodles as the serving is too much (I'm an average Asian girl). The serving would be nice... More

The warm atmosphere and friendly service. Inexpensive but huge portions. Always take some back to my room.

Upon arriving at the Best Western President's hotel at 10pm where I was spending the night after an international trip, I wasn't hopeful of finding a healthy way to fill my tummy. LO and behold ,adjacent to the hotel was this gem of a restaurant. I was the only customer for most of the time, but they treated me warmly... More

We've been twice to Saigon 48 and have eaten very well both times. Most recently we shared the steamed fish and garlic broccoli. Steamed fish can be very bland, but this was delicious, subtly seasoned, and it came with all sorts of just-crunchy vegetables. The broccoli was indeed laced with powerful amounts of garlic, and we enjoyed it. Portions are... More

It's by no means THE high Vietnamese quisine showing decades of French garstronomic influence. It's more like chinese there, minus glutamate. Very good fresh steamed fish. The serrvice is mild, unobtrusive and unlike many – I'd say most – NYC restaurants you don't feel hassled with empty smiles, passive-aggressive how's-everythings, and a constant Damocle's sword of 20% gratuity one is... I visited Saigon 48 in September of 2011 and it did not disappoint. Fast forward 3 years and it did not disappoint again! The food is fresh, the wait staff friendly and attentive and the prices very reasonable. It is a must do if you are around 48th street.
