We were in the Village on Sunday, 11/3/13 and we were looking forward to Indian Taj's mouthwatering chicken saag and lamb vindaloo. I had called two days before to make sure of the closing time. As we walked up to the restaurant we saw that the place was dark and there was a sign that said "Close. Lost our lease"... More

We were hungry after a 12 hour train ride and stumbled upon this place. The kitchen was closing in 15 minutes yet they welcomed us. No sense of rush. I had a divine Mango Chicken and a nut naan. The chicken was tender beyond belief. I'd give the place a 6 if I could!

I could easily give this resturaunt an extra star or star and a half on the food and service. On our mostnrecent visit the service was very very accomodating. The food is consistently very good with a large selection. There was a dead roach on our table our server tried to playdown upon seating us. Has windows thatbcan open onto... More

We had both the Mattar Paneer and Saag Paneer on a recent visit to this restaurant. They were both very tasty and as good as I've had anywhere. The service was friendly and fast, the meals are very large and very well priced. I will return to Indian Taj next time I am in New York.

While going for a walk on the wonderful Bleeecker Street we passed this restaurant and chose this for a dinner. The food - we had the butter chicken - came fast and it was quite nice. The service was good, and when they dimmed the light it got a bit more romantic. The location is great.

I have eaten here a couple of times and because my knowledge of Indian cuisine isnt very well, I stick to fish tikki masala and I choose a bread as an appetizer. I have had no complaints until now. Before getting your meal, you are given "large crackers" with a tray of 3 sauces. These trays with sauces are passed... More

There is a good variation of menues i.e. there are vegetarian, with chicken, beef, lamb, prawns menues etc. The service was really up front, he always refill me glas with tap water and gave us additionally free rice. The menues were really tasty and were served hot. The food came really quick so we didn't have to wait too long.... More

We go every Friday for lunch buffet. It's a great value at $12. Typically there 2-3 non-veg dishes, 4 veg dishes, Naan, 2 desserts and an appetizer. On Fridays the appetizer is Chola Batura. They also add in a Goan fish curry to the buffet in the winter season.

Just okay...Nothing great to mention about it... After a week in NY, tried something from back home but was dejected..The taste is just ok and nothing special to mention about it. Avoid if possible...there are more options here...
