We were hoodwinked by the concierge in our hotel into going here. He told us he eats there often and can get a glass of wine a steak and side for $40. We thought that sounded great and walked over. Immediately we noticed the prices were way higher than we were lead to believe. They have steak for 2 etc... More

We were over visiting from Scotland for our silver wedding anniversary. Gansevoort hotel recommended this restaurant and booked it for us. Overrun with waiters and our waiter was fairly good, gave us good info regarding portions etc.. Food was good, steaks were nice but unfortunately not up to the standard of Keens steakhouse in my opinion. We enjoyed our dinner... More

Wanted a steak on our last night in NYC. Hotel reception made the reservation for us, was walking distance (bonus), just a short walk from Empire State Building. We had the fixed-price NYC Restaurant Week menu: Starters: soup of the day (beef & rice) & mixed green salad Mains: both had sirloin steak -served with broccoli & mash potato with... More

We were here on a weeknight, there was a pretty good crowd, about 3/4 full. Our waiter was accommodating, while not particularly warm. But he knew his menu and wine list. The cuts are incredibly large, my filet was probably 75% larger than I get most places. But it was all excellent.

We were looking for a good steak house in Midtown NYC and our hotel recommended Ben and Jack's (29th and 5th) . We enjoyed our visit - the food was excellent with ample portions, the service was very good and the ambience good. Definitely a place to go if you are looking for a great steak.

We visited the 5th avenue restaurant - sat outside and enjoyed a burger with fries. Absolutely superb even if we could not cope with the size of the portion and had to admit defeat. Service was good.

With so many great streak houses to choose from in NY, we were fortunate to be sent to this one. Very comfortable seating and nice indoor / outdoor design. We had everything from steak, lobster, clams, lobster Mac and cheese to chicken parm- tried them all. Very good food and very good service - and love the steak sauce!

My boyfriend and I were actually caught in a blizzard and we were starving! This was the only place we could see that was open late and it was such a lovely surprise. We knew it was expensive, but it was so worth it. The steaks were absolutely huge, massive sides and lovely wine. We sat for a few hours... More

Me and my partner came here in December 2013, after getting lost trying to find this place we eventually arrived and decided to go for a classic steak and I went for the chicken parmigiana. Our mouths dropped when our meals arrived! Steak was bigger than any I had seen before and so tender! My chicken parmigiana was actually 4... More
