Wish we had one of these at home...

Having heard non-stop about S'mac, I really wanted to give this place a shot on my first NYC visit. My husband and I shared the sampler, which had a good amount of food for $16. I would highly recommend that if you've never been to S'mac before. It gave us a wide variety of different types and... read more

This little gem of a restaurant has some of the best Mac and Cheese! One of my favorite little eateries in NYC! Prices are reasonable as well!

They only sell Macaroni and Cheese dishes and they have perfected it. I chose the basic American Mac\C with Bacon. Next time I'll take the

The mac and cheese really was good, and it was a fun experience, choosing from the wide range of flavours. The service was fairly average- the guys working there seemed to be having great fun, but at the expense of the customers. Lots of loud singing, swearing, and making fun of the customers was coming from the kitchen while we... More

Ate here with someone who had never had macaroni and cheese before, to introduce her to all its beauty. Found myself reassuring her, "It can be so much better than this." Nothing wrong with this place, per se, but if you're only going to serve variations on one dish, it should be fantastic.

Since I absolutely fancied having mac'n'cheese we went there for dinner. The mac'n'cheese (we went for four cheese and cheeseburger) was good (especially the cheeseburger one, really great combination and ultimate comfort food), but the salad was a bit of a waste of money. Being served in a plastic container, freezing cold and very uninspiring, it certainly wasn't worth the... More

I can't get enough mac and cheese...ever. I could live on it alone. Years ago, I heard about this place that has hundreds of mac and cheese combinations all prepared fresh and in a skillet that it's served in. You can select from the menu or create your own (which I did) with an endless array of options and fillers.... More

My friend loves mac & cheese so this is where we ended up for dinner. She ordered the 4 cheese and I ordered the Buffalo chicken cheese. Both dishes were delicious but...and here's where I lost it. I noticed that an employee came in, used the restroom, failed to wash his hands and had left the bathroom looking like the... More

Went for lunch today at Smac and tried the American, Four Cheese and the Cheeseburger. First we were told they didn't have the sampler even though how can they not? It's a bit of everything.... Then the rest of the ordering process was horrendous the server was rude, didn't explain the process and messed up the amount of drinks three... More

Went on 2/21/15. Around 7pm, Young lady behind counter was a nasty, angry person. Not with me, not with any customer that was waiting patiently. She was just being vulgar with the poor cook who had to listen to her bemoaning the busy night, the delivery guy, the telephone ringing {which I think she disabled, because I tried to call... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
