Restaurant Week

We had a nice dinner here last night before seeing a performance on Broadway. It was restaurant week so we had the price fix. It was a great meal and setting. This was one of the old guards of NYC that we never go around to getting to, so we decided to try it. It dud not disappoint. The setting... read more

I visited Le Cirque for a business lunch during NYC's restaurant week. In my experience, my visit to Le Cirque stands out as one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food, service and atmosphere each either met or exceeded the high bar. I would recommend this restaurant very highly.

Our experience at le cirque during restaurant week 2016 was not at all impressive Our appetizers were mediocre. Which was surprising from such a highly rated restaurant. The main courses were good but very small portions and no vegetable or sides. Even the dessert, including the creme brûlée which they are know for was mediocre The service at the start... More

Went on a Friday for lunch during restaurant week. Ordered only the basic $25 3-course lunch (no extras) and the price was $65 for two. (The regular menu is not quite the same menu, but a comparable lunch there would have been about $80-85.) Service was excellent and the food was very good and the portions were very-nice sized. The... More

The scene. A frigid day in NY during Restaurant Week. A more than brisk walk from MOMA for lunch at a place we'd been hearing about for years. Step in, mention Open Table. So far, so good. A lovely place, warm and quiet. Placed near an order kiosk, our request to move is granted. Sommelier consulted, waiter engaged. Chickpea soup... More

My colleague and I went there for lunch and were pleasantly surprised to find out they have a 28 dollars menu, including 1 appetizer and 1 entree. I had a peccorino creme brulee, which was amazing and the salmon for entree. The food was delicious. I am French and always hesitate to go to those places because most of the... More

Traditionally, we are having our x-mas eve dinner in a top rated NYC restaurant. This time it was Le Cirque, booked through SELECT Concierge. The menu was a pre-select holiday menu with ample choices. Food was excellent (we had filet mignon and lamb as main and my lobster salad as appetizer was to die for). Service was very professional, as... More

Picked this based on other reviews for "top rated" NY restaurants. Based on our experience we'd have to say the praise is a little overrated. Appears to us that the restaurant expects us to be "wowed" by the presentation of the food (think small portions prettily arranged on big plates). While OK, that's all it was and not worth the... Some friends treated us to dinner at Le Cirque the other night. I have to admit that I felt terrible for them as we all were clearly trying to put a good face on a very expensive but less than stellar dinner. After finally being waited on (they were very busy) we placed our orders only to have the waiter... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
