Very good high end Italian

Nice space, attentive staff, an excellent Restaurant Week menu. We really enjoyed our visit and were very pleased with the selection offered on the very inexpensive set menu for Restaurant Week. A minor point, the delicious penne could have had salty less salt. They were out of the Proscecco we... read more

Nice space, attentive staff, an excellent Restaurant Week menu. We really enjoyed our visit and were very pleased with the selection offered on the very inexpensive set menu for Restaurant Week. A minor point, the delicious penne could have had salty less salt. They were out of the Proscecco we chose but offered us a more expensive one for the... More

We were there today with our kids for lunch. To begin with , the only view available was exclusive for the 6 small tables close to the window. The courses were tiny little ones just to imagine the taste. The chef refused to serve the pasta sauce on the side for my son, unless he could charge for it (can... More

I have eaten at A Voce for dinner and for lunch on many occasions and I observe to be consistently good, however there was a couple of misses on my last meal there. Their Veal Milanese was oily. It seemed that perhaps the oil was not hot enough when it was fried and so rather than a crispy breading there... More

A stylish venue with interesting artworks and nice street views as well as quite a few places to dine outside, A Voce Madison offers a modern interpretation of Italian cuisine - sometimes perhaps a bit to modern: the Tuscan fish stew turned out to be various pieces of fish on a thin layer of sauce. Call me conservative, but if... More

A civilized oasis off Madison Square Park. There is also at Columbus Circle. The one at MSP is quiet and good to talk. The one at Columbus Circle (in Time Warner complex) is more touristy but has great view of Central Park. I think A Voce at MSP is really good. Wine Enthusiast Magazine has rated it as #1 on... More

I like A Voce and have been at both the Madison Sq Park and Columbus location. The menu is served in small portions - example Quail eggs - and can be a little gamey. the vibe and service is good but it can be for people who want to be seen on the scene. I prefer the Columbus Circle location,... More

We dined at A Voce on Madison and 26th. I had the ricotta with petite vegetables, which looked and tasted much better than it sounds. I also had the orecchiette with rabbit ragu, which I loved. JJ had Bronzino. A nice bread plate also is provided and the service is fine. There are a lot of interesting items on the... More

I was a little put off by the location, 3rd floor in a Mall, a high end mall though. The service was good and the menu was interesting. It is New York so it is not going to be the best value for fine dinning. The beet salad and pork tenderloin were very good.

Very over priced. Pathetic food. I had read about their great Florentine steak - what a sham a tasteless piece of beef. ( 10 times better at Lugers or Wolfgangs). Not what you get in Florence. The balance of the food was just as mediocre-salad,pasta. Best part was desert. The atmosphere is stark and off-putting. Don't go-I won't go back.... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
