Description: The word is out: Marlon Abela, the restaurateur behind London's Michelin one-star with two-stars rising Greenhouse, has opened a new modern Italian restaurant A Voce ("word of mouth") on the edge of chic Madison Square Park. The emphasis is on grown-up, deeply delicious Italian cookery set against a back drop of Italian style and organic East Coast elements.

This restaurant has a chef that knows how to cook! Simply one of the most surprising meals. It was recommended by our concierge at the Palace. We started with a simple salad which was delightful. Marinated beets in a light dressing with fresh greens and cheese. The dressing was wonderful. Then the Scallop appetizer on a eggplant pancake. Wow. Cooked... More

We first came here a few months ago and had drinks at the bar while killing some time. The hospitality of both the bartender, maitre d and the sommelier working made us put it high on the list to try so we came back with some friends. Our experience was great. We first started at the bar and then moved... More

Valero, the maître d', must have thought I was Donald Trump. Because he sure acted like I was royalty. Never been here before and he gave us what I believe were the best seats in the house overlooking columbus circle at sunset--BOOM. To start we had Capesante (seared scallop)s, i had to battle my wife to get one. Next I... More

This review is about one very specific element: the most delicious ricotta cheese and toasted yummy Italian bread have been removed from the menu by a new chef. This was such a superlative dish and is the reason I brought friends to the place tonight. This place has great atmosphere and service and wine (although no well priced wines by... More

During Restaurant Week, it's easy to find a restaurant to suit your taste buds. But, in most places they are so busy that the staff becomes irritable, and seldom seen. NOT at aVoce, Midtown. The staff are super friendly which makes the food taste even better. No mistake, the food is perfect. The staff are visible, easy to signal, and... More

Heard good things about A Voce, but save your money and tastebuds during Restaurant Week for Le Perigord, Cafe Boulud, Gotham Bar & Grill, Telepan, and a few more that serve their usual delicious food. Unlike the others, A Voce's Restaurant Week menu does NOT have the dishes the regular menu does. I had an excellent poached egg on a... More

Staff very helpful and accommodating, great food & wine, reasonable prices. Roast chicken done perfectly but too bad we didn't choose from the regular menu for better selection.

Ladies & Gentlemen, this is my review number 98 and counting. Obviously this restaurant is being managed by a French man, because once you are entering that place, people are not very grateful if you are wearing a short-pants and a Polo shirt for lunch, but my friend was fine, since her office has a dress-code. Have chosen a table... More

Disappointed... seriously overpriced teeny tiny portions. Service was good --- when it happened but very very slow. They brought out my secondi BEFORE my primi - so everyone is eating their pasta and we are having white wine, and i have my second course first, a steak, and THEN they say they forgot my primi pasta and order it and... Went there for a business lunch recently. Nice location by the park, good service, great wine list and verry good food. The pea soup starter was good but a little bland, the pasta and pork ragu though was one of the best pastas i have had. Sensational taste in the ragu. Great restaurant for a business lunch.
