Kellari Taverna is located in the heart of New York City, three blocks from Grand Central Station, Times Square and the Theater District. The dining room decor evokes a subterranean wine cellar designed with contemporary elegance. Kellari features the traditional Greek taverna specialties, such as grilled whole fish, prime chops and meats, and an eclectic selection of contemporary Hellenic savory appetizers ("mezedes") created by our Corporate Executive Chef, Gregory Zapantis. Our menu also features a variety of Greek cheeses, baked or flamed 'Saganaki' style, as well as a selection of Raw and Marinated seafood. The Kellari dessert menu includes innovative specialties such mastiha pudding and warm sokolata with halva ice cream as as well as traditional favorites such as Baklava and Galaktoboureko. Kellari Taverna offers an extensive international wine list featuring the largest selection of Greek wines available in any U.S. restaurant. About 24 wines are available by-the-glass.

If you love Greek food...you'll enjoy Kellari. My partner and I just happened to pass it as we were walking to our hotel whille in NYC. The room wasn't ready so we decided to go to brunch. There was a sign outside for a champagne brunch at less than $30/pp, which in NYC i'm sure is a great deal. There... More

I came here qith two colleagues as it was close to my hotel. Two of us were taken to the fish bar. My first impression was that it is just show. The fish mught be in ice but they are not fresh. The eyes did not have the sharpness associated with very fresh fish and the scales had lost their... More

Made a reservation for dinner before a nearby show on a recent Friday evening. The pre- and post-theater menu is available seven days/week and offers several choices. The food was fresh and flavorful, and the service efficient, knowing we had a show. A lovely environment and great value--we look forward to a return visit!

Called in for drinks mid week just by chance as walking past. Was nice and busy but we managed to get a seat by the bar. Nice drinks (with table service if needed) and lovely setting. Good choice of local beers and the best wine I had on our holiday in New York.

...for lunch after arriving in New York for the weekend. We passed the restaurant on our way to the Iroquois Hotel and decided to try it for lunch. We were not disappointed. Fresh, flavorful food. The chef and kitchen staff are amazing. Service is attentive but not intrusive.

We spent the weekend in NYC and were looking for a place to go for dinner before we began our celebration. Happy to say that we actually began our party at the restaurant with a free bottle of champagne. Add your birthday to their web site and you're on your way!! The fish and salad was excellent and the service... More

We were phoned to confirm our reservation an hour or so before hand and were welcomed warmly upon arrival. We were quickly shown to a table which I was glad to see what was not crowded in by other tables. Service was fast and efficient, a selection of bread and dips were served whilst we were making our selection. A... More

I've been here a lot over the years. It's a great pre or post Theater place. Away from the chaos of Time Sq but without the need to hail a taxi. Generally really good for a Greek seafood orientated taverna. But the last few visits it seems to have been in decline. Does the kitchen care? Last night brought over... More

Fresh fish, cooked to your specs, and not NYC 'crazy' expensive. That's a hard to find combo. Other menu items very nicely prepared - I usually get a combination of apps and sides for the main course. Space is quite comfortable - table placement roomy and noise level tolerable even on a very busy Saturday night. Service is friendly and efficient.... More

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
