Our family voted to eat Greek during restaurant week and we settled on trying out Kellari Taverna. We all agreed that the food was delicious, the drinks innovative, but pricey, the service slow, and the fixed menu a good deal. However, I don't know if I would go back as the regular prices were quite steep for what you got... More

Dinner before the theatre. Service was excellent, attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. Celebrated my mother's 86th birthday and wait staff came and sang to her and owner came to say happy birthday too. Made her birthday very special. Would go back again and again!

We requested a special table and the hostess was very accomodating. Try the octopus appetizer...very good. The restaurant was busy however our waiter was attentive and helpful with menu selections. Nice interior.

Stopped at Kellari after theater matinee. All six of us had the dinner special. We were so pleased with the service as well as the food. Absolute no feeling of being rushed. Lots of very pleasant wait staff with lots of smiles and advice as to menu items. Had not heard of this Greek restaurant before, but so glad we... More

Our first visit to NYC, and this place sat across the street from our hotel. Beautiful atmosphere, and the food was outstanding! Drinks were extrordinarily expensive($14-18) so I suggest having happy hour elsewhere.

Absolutely loved this place! This is my second time here and its now my other favorite greek fish restaurant! (see:Periyali 35 W 20th St) . This restaurant is much larger and not as quiet as Periyali but I still had no problem conversing with my friend. The food was excellent as was my previous visit. The proseco was good! And... More

We came in after a day of sight seeing and it was a little more upmarket than we thought or were dressed for, but no matter, we were greeted warmly and the food was excellent. Try the saganaki meze, it is fantastic. Good salads and great grilled fish by the pound. Really nice big room and the tables are well... More

I went here with a business group for a dinner after an all-day meeting. They had a separate room for us (not really a room -- it was a large alcove with half a dozen tables separated from the main room by a semi-sheer curtain. After a half-hour of drinks, the waiters brought out our first course, which was actually... More

We had a very nice Bulgarian waitress who understood the menu very well. The Village salad had impossibly ripe tomato's for June. So sweet with good acidity. Dover sole was decent. Glass pours more than adequate. The star was clearly the octopus. Incredibly tender- right at the point that if it was more tender, there would not be enough chew... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
