Piada is the story of a successful attempt of two Italian friends to bring the most popular Italian street food in New York. Indeed, piada is a thin flat bread filled with a variety of cheeses, charcuteries and vegetables... Despite the original recipe is not vegetarian, our dough is and it is as crunchy and tasty as the traditional one. Piada also serves an intriguing variety of small plates, pastas, soups and salads which are made using the most decadent Italian ingredients and are beautifully paired with a selection of wines and beers... It is the ideal spot for people who are looking for a light Italian meal in a cozy environment! We are proudly serving Aneri coffee, an Italian wood-roasted espresso blend with a rich and persistent taste with no acidity... A nice shot to pick you up and go back to your "things to see/visit/do/check/buy/....." Hope to see you soon!!

Small and charming

After so much walking, we wanted a place to peruse a menu and be served. We settled on Piada, in the lower level food court under the Plaza. There are many options downstairs catering to many tastes. We came here and had the raviolli (good but small portions), soup (fairly tasteless), chicken salad (mediocre) and 1 glass of wine. The bill was over $50. I guess we were paying for the location. Don't bother coming here - the only redeeming feature were the very attentive and polite staff.

My second time eating at this establishment. The menu offers soups, sandwiches, pasta, and some great appetizers. I really enjoyed the Ricotta al Miele con Pistacchio. Drizzled with honey it was a foodie's dream. The Amarcord flatbread sandwich with prosciutto, mozzarella, and arugula was ok but dry. Servers didn't check back.

My sister and I stopped in a Piada at the Plaza yesterday for a quick bite. We each ordered the Spaghetti special. My sister had the vodka sauce, I had the tomato basil. I tasted both and both were simply delicious. My tomato basil sauce, in particular, was perfection. The star of the dish though was the noodles. I am... More

Pasta for 12 year olds was $14 with butter sauce. There were about 20 pieces of pasta on he plate. Salad I had was very bland. My friend's sandwich (caprese) was unremarkable. Will not recommend or return.

Lovely new spot for Italian street food. Good location, pleasant ambiance and great service. The quality & authenticity of the food paired with fine Italian wines can't be beat. Since I love eggplant, for appetizer I order the verdure gratinate which was perfectly cooked. I also ordered the Dolce Vita, which is a light flatbread sandwich. This sandwich offers a... More

We had lunch there and had a great meal! The staff was friendly and efficient. The food came out fast and delicious. I recommend the spinach and ricotta ravioli with chicken vodka sauce... OMG... this is soooooo good. The sandwiches are great too. The atmosphere is upscale. Perhaps not kid friendly, but I highly recommend it.

Just by luck we were walking, my wife and I, by the Plaza Hote around lunch timel and saw the sign for the food court. We decided to investgate and disscovered and extremely interesting array of food vendors. After walking around we decided to choose the Piada first because it seemed a little more quiet, stlightly removed from the main... More

This is a recently opened Italian restaurant located in the food hall of the Plaza. After walking around all the food hall, we returned to this one because we thought the menu looked unique and the counter and reclaimed hard wood seating area was welcoming. The owners are very friendly-we just ordered at the counter and they brought it out... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
