Great night out

Recently went to dinner here with 2 friends while on business in NYC. The food was very good--but portions were much larger than we thought so we didn't end up finishing everything. The beef carpaccio was very good and the crispy shrimp tempura was Ok but had a bit too much batter for my taste... read more

I'll start by saying that this place a it's uniqueness: it's beautifully decorated, service is wonderful and just looking at the beautiful and rich people who attend this place is fun and interesting. So if you come to impress someone - this place is good for you. However, the food and the Sushi are only average and I've had much... More

My boyfriend brought me to Morimoto for my birthday a few weeks ago. I've wanted to go to this restaurant for such a long time and had such high expectations for it being an Iron Chef's restaurant. The decor and building was very nice. It had a very modern and clean feel to it. Service was very attentive without being... More

Bottom line: INCREDIBLE. My wife said something about this being an Iron Chef winner. I had no clue what that means. But we've been twice, now, and the food and service are among the best I've had. The Udon soup had no equal. My wife like the salmon, and I go for more unusual things, The last time I had... More

Arrived for late lunch after 2.00 pm . Still very busy ,others must like the food , however all in our group were disappointed ! Too much deep fried chicken and some very strange flavours! Noise level .. High .. Difficult to have a conversation ! Sorry just did not get it !!

My wife and I frequent one amazing restaurant a year for our anniversary. The food and price were reasonable. However, the crowd left something to be desired. The clientele has changed from romantic couples to large families. We never felt rushed but the cuisine lost the ability to captivate with the noise. I recommend removing the sushi bar seats as... Booked a table for a birthday dinner a few weeks ago. When I called I was asked if it was for a special occasion; I said yes. Arrived at the restaurant and was immediately shown to the worst table in the house - a dark corner before the main restaurant section near a fire escape (I have no idea why... More

I don't know if it was because we had high expectations going into the "Iron Chef's" namesake restaurant, but we were underwhelmed. As all of the reviews suggest, the restaurant is chic and the toro tartare is delicious. We ordered the chef's tasting menu and though the finest ingredients were the center piece of each course, the creativity seemed to... More

Great dinner. A few of us did the Chef's choice. WOW. Skip the beef upgrade but do add the Sake pairing. Everyone loved their food. This place is a must if you like Sushi and that kind of stuff.

Went to NYC for a training and a friend that is a foodie decided that it was time to experience Morimoto. It was certainly the best experience ever. We all ordered the chef's choice with a 7 course meal. The food was amazing and the staff Unbelievable. Of course it was not a cheap meal, but totally worth it!!!
