My husband and I went to Morimoto for our second anniversary, and had such a great time that we went back for our fifth. We were not disappointed. Eating at Morimoto is a pleasure, the entire experience, from the hostess station to the waitstaff to the way the busboys clear your table is designed to be comfortable and lovely. Not to... More

An experience to have: dinner at the sushi bar, with the Omakase tasting menu and a very good Californian Soleil Chardonnay. Food excellent. Every dish was well presented. I particularly liked the toro tartare and the surf&turf waggu filet with lobster in garam masala. Service professional and efficient. As for the atmosphere, maybe because it was Saturday (July 5) night,... More

We went for lunch today and had a delicious bento box and dessert for $25. Black Cod, salad, miso soup, sushi (was a bit small), and 3 pieces of a tuna roll, tempura with a sauce (tasted like it could have blue cheese in it), The black cod was cooked perfectly. Surprisingly the sushi was what I liked the least.The... More

Have been here multiple times and loved every moment of it! The crispy shrimp as a started is the best, the sushi is also incredibly fresh. This is pretty expensive but you get what you pay for!

This past trip to NYC was specifically designed around food. I went to other NYC restaurants, unfortunately I found Morimoto to be just OK. I asked for the sushi selection at lunch and although the plating and execution of the sushi was flawless, the fish was not the freshest. I live in the pacific coast in Costa Rica and when... More

It was recommended by friends. We started with a cocktail which was to die for. It's what you expect when you know your going to pay, brilliant, very different. Appetiser and mains were great, presentation, taste and ingredients. Desert was to die for, honestly. One thing is annoying. We sat upstairs and as the interior is very modern (glass, concrete,... I went with a friend and we ordered the $45 sushi sampling with another sushi roll and it was more than plenty of food. The sushi was super fresh. I loved every bite. I didn't like that the tables were so close. In fact, that part was almost annoying because we had millennials on both sides of us who were... More

Fantastic meal for two sharing the tasting menu - beautifully prepared and a real taste sensation especially the smoky dish (I won't ruin the surprise). Expensive but then it's New York. Just wish the dishes had been bigger with more sushi but I guess we could have ordered more/better. Cocktails first downstairs were delicious and the toilets are a must... More

Because of the name and widely known reputation you always go in to these places expecting a lot. Probably the curse if being a celebrity chef. In this case it more than delivered in every aspect. For an appetizer we had the diver scallop, the presentation was amazing, so was the taste. We also ordered some sushi as appetizers which... More

The restaurant was empty as we were the first ones to arrive for lunch. Not long after, it filled up. Everything we ordered was excellent! Bone marrow, toro tartare, chirashi - they were all fantastic. Wish Morimoto had a restaurant in Los Angeles. Definitely going back next time we're in NY.
