I requested to get the burger which was the only normal looking thing on the menu and I asked specifically to get it without the Roquefort cheese. Yet, I still got the cheese on it. The waiter told me he'd cook it off (?) and came back not long after with a plain hamburger. Sadly, the only other component besides... More

So about 5 years ago I first went to the spotted pig and had what I can only remember as the best burger and fries of my life. In the subsequent time that I haven't been in NYC, I've dreamed of it on a number of occasions... what I wouldn't give to have it again. Chance was in my favour... More

The gastro pub is ranked highly on TripAdvisor. We therefore had high expectations. These were unfortunately not met. We ordered local specialty hamburger with so-called shoostring fries. Taste and consistency were well below average. Service was ok but not more. The place had a certain charm and personality. We will probably not prioritize another visit next time we are in... More

Very average by NYC standards. boring decor, slow service, untrained staff, overpriced and completely unmemorable food. Don't bother.

Deliciousness on a plate. How can your mouth water over a burger?! So so good. Loved the small, eclectic atmosphere as well. Thankful that a foodie friend shared this gem with us.

If you enjoy the following in combination this is the place for you: 1. Watching bar staff flirt with mates whilst you politely dehydrate. 2. Contorting into a Lilliputian table whilst ignoring music audible in a different state. 3. Waiting over an hour for a main course. 4. Paying almost $40 for 3 scallops. 5. Leaving a "gastro pub" hungry.... More

Great food, prompt and very friendly service - loved the burger and fries with garlic and rosemary. We had a limited menu because we were there at 3 in the afternoon but still plenty to choose from.

Went there with friends and waited at the 2nd floor bar for almost an hour. Finally we were sat down, and let me tell you the burger was worth the wait and the price. If I'm paying $22 for a burger, it better be damn good and I wasn't disappointed

Spotty service to say the least. when my wife asked for mayo for her burger the guy said we don't serve mayo with "our burgers" REALLLYYYY!!!! I felt slapped in the face, could the woman I love really not have the condiment she desires on her $21.00 hamburger, I looked over at my daughter eating her $18.00 grilled cheese and... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
