Place was highly recommended by a new yorker family member. Great atmosfere, first come first served. Front desk fine , on the spot. After a half hour waiting time, at 3 pm on a Friday, we finally sat down. Tables for 2 or 3 are of same size so not a good place for odd numbers. After a few obnoxious... More

Came for the burger Ate the burger Loved the burger Simply put the best burger in New York Ignore the pompous and pretentious reviews on here about the burger. It really is that good! Not to mention the delicious shoe string fries. For once somewhere that lives up to the hype!

Let me just start with the fact that I went to New York with a long list of places I have to eat at. I had about 20 restaurants, many more little cafes and bakeries. Two of the places, and Spotted Pig being one of them, had lots and lots of negative reviews. I have been virtually warned about rude... More

I have eaten a few burgers in my time but I don't believe any have surpassed the excellent burger I had at The Spotted Pig - it was THAT good! The restaurant itself is uniquely quirky with an atmosphere that's both buzzing and relaxed at the same time, if that's possible. The staff were very friendly and the drinks were... More

I find it hard to believe that this restaurant has got one star. The food and the beer is very good, but not special in any way. Is it worth waiting in average 1,5 hrs for a table in this small and crowded room? In my opinion, no.

We got there on a busy night and weren't sure we'd stay when told there was an 1 1/2 hr wait. We ventured upstairs to check the bar and found seats. Watching Paul, the expert mixologist was quite entertaining. Our drinks and food were outstanding. Really enjoyed our evening. The Burger is one the best ever. Loved the burrata with... More

The Spotted Pig is a British type pub which means it is usually packed with people and very noisy. It is nothing fancy. A neighborhood kind of place. No reservations accepted but they do take credit cards. You will have to walk a few blocks for the train. The table we had was square and made of wood and the... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
