Located steps from Manhattan's Theatre District and the famed Carnegie Hall, Ed Sullivan Theater, and City Center, Abboccato Italian Kitchen serves some of New York City's finest authentic, yet simple Italian cuisine, spanning the diverse regions of Italy from Sicily to Lombardi. Executive Chef David Arias serves up regional dishes featuring ten varieties of handmade pasta, a selection of shared-plates, and an approachable six-course chef's tasting menu. To accompany the meal, guests can enjoy Italian wines and cocktails featuring traditional Italian spirits and modern preparations, including herb and fruit-infused ice cubes. In addition to the savory Italian cuisine, Abboccato's dessert menu allows diners to end their meal as elegantly as they started it.

Ok, but not great

Nice location, a bit dated interior, friendly reception, semi comfortable "booth type " seating for two. Nice menu selection for both, starters to share, appetizers, salsda and main course, accompanied by good wine selection. Service, whilst friendly and attentive is a bit of a mix. Asking to order... read more

After eating at a restaurant twice the price and less than half as good the night before, this visit made up for our earlier disappointment. We hadn't heard anything about it, but went for the menu items. We were pleasantly surprised. Everything was not only cooked to perfection, but served beautifully.

This restaurant was near the hotel we usually stay at so we gave it a try. Very pretty decor and good service. Restaurant was empty which said something. The food was edible but not on par with the prices charged. Wonder where the chefs were trained if at all. No presentation - food dumped on the plate. Taste just overdone... More

This restaurant is conveniently located right off 6th Avenue on 55th Street. We had a table by the window, overlooking the sidewalk; very pleasant on a beautiful day. The interior of the restaurant is inviting. They had a $39 prix fixe dinner that was very good. The rest of the menu was interesting but more expensive. The service was okay... More

Happy, my colleague and I, were trying out tripadvisor to look for a place to eat and we saw this place right across the street. We went on had awesome food. The seafood salad and the summer ale was just the thing that you can have on a hot summer day. The sandwich for Happy turned out to be great... More

We found this little gem from the Michelin Dining Guide, which never seems to be wrong! It was within walking distance of Times Square or almost anywhere in Midtown. The food was incredible, especially the sweet potato ravioli that I ordered! And the prices were much less than you can expect in NYC, 4 women drinking wine and ordering entrees... More

Out of the way and downstairs of the Blakely, however, the food was quite lovely, and they accommodated us without a reservation.

Stayed in the adjoining Blakely hotel and had breakfast here each morning as part of the room rate. Pretty basic continental fayre. Staff came across as surly and not very friendly. Restrooms are the smallest I have ever seen. Stand up from the toilet and your toes are under the door and your nose touching it!

Cozy, great service, deeeeeeeeeeeelicious food!!! As a guest at the Blakely, this is a very convenient restaurant - I feel so lucky that it is as wonderful as it is.

We stayed in The Blakely Hotel which adjoins Abboccato and where the hotel breakfast is served. Breakfast was no more than average, with average service to boot. We had dinner there once, and again - there was nothing wrong, but also nothing impressed us enough to dine there again during the two weeks we stayed at the hotel. I think... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
