Description: The first uptown New York location by legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, opened to much anticipation in the summer of 2005. Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature New Style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno and Black Cod Miso, and new creations from the wood burning oven and the hibachi table.

There is no doubt that the food is good. The service was okay. Great big gaps between visits to the table. The check was the most impressive thing of the night. It was crazy expensive and we are not faint of heart when it comes to fine dining. That said, the Black Cod with Miso was quite nice.

Love the impeccable service and signature Nobu cocktails at this Westside / Midtown location of the Tribeca favourite. Dine at the sushi bar and you can have dinner & a show!

Ok, I have the cookbook now, need I say more. It is such magnificent sushi with flare and non-traditional overtones. Be adventurous here and ask for help. They are quite willing to guide you and you won't be disappoints. I just wished I had two stomachs to try more. Sigh.

The food was great, the decoration and ambiance was excellent as well. The service initially was very slow and they stuck us in a corner near the server station, even though we were there early (pre-show) and there were plenty of seats in other places. Could it be that they put the mom and daughter in a corner to save... More

Brilliant place on 57th street. Great place to go with kids. The staff is very accomodating and pleaant. My wife is very picky about her food and they were very patient o understand and comply with her needs. The sushi was excellent.

I would return to just eat sashimi -- it really was spectacular. The other items we ordered -- some beef dishes, a few cooked seafood dishes, and the sushi -- were fine, but not memorable (except for the prices). The restaurant decor is nice/interesting. The service was not what it should have been at a restaurant of this caliber. I... More

Took the girls (10 and 7) for their first sushi experience and they enjoyed it. They loved the food, space, staff and watching the men roll the maki. Nobu is one of our favorites and we always eat there when possible.

what can I say, can't fault the place. Opted for the 100 dollar tasting menu and the flavours were something else. If you are looking for interesting Japanese food then this is the place.

This isn't just one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced, it is the runaway best. This is culinary art in sushi and other Japanese preparations. Whenever I go to NYC I find my way to Nobu 57. To do otherwise would be uncivilized. Bento boxes in the bar are a wonderfully casual and comfortable way to encounter Nobu... More
