Description: The first uptown New York location by legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa...
The first uptown New York location by legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, opened to much anticipation in the summer of 2005. Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature New Style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno and Black Cod Miso, and new creations from the wood burning oven and the hibachi table.

Great culinary experience

Wow. Great experience. Every dish we ordered was absolutely great. I was particularly enjoyed the king crabs in seaweed tacos and the Wagyu Japanese carpaccio (it has a special name). Ambience is suitable for all: adults families with kids. A bit expensive but worth it.

Food is always consistent and the restaurant always has an electric energy about it. A bit on the pricey side, but for a special meal -- go for it!

The ambiance and energy in the place is great. as a food lover i was truly underwhelmed by the entree. we had sea bass and it just tasted undercooked and under sauced. Found my self being forced to enjoy it. The drink recmmended by the waiter wasnt as celebrated as i thought. I would go back for the experience but... More

Fish was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. Atmosphere is typical NYC nice. Still, over priced that sustains due to hype. Including mine!

Nobu enjoys a great location on 57th Street, and it's packed bar and second story restaurant attest to its popularity. I've never had a bad there. The sushi is always fresh and cut perfectly. Their service is prompt but you never feel rushed. The sake and list selections are very good.

I love small dishes; where you can order several and try different food. Nobu has great food; good service; cool ambiance. Tried mainly the "best sellers" as tour server told us; yellowtail sashimi (delicious sauce); tuna and salad (the best dish in my opinion); salmon sashimi (disappointing dressing), formed shrimp (yummy) and beef (good)! Loved the rice beer.

I went there for a business dinner, and even for me that don't eat any sea food, it was awesome. I ate the only dish with meat, was perfect! The dessert perfect too. I highly recommend it!

For my last night in New York, my wife and I took in a Broadway show and wanted to have an amazing meal after show. We looked at many different places but I had always heard that Nobu's was amazing. So we were able to get a last minute reservation late in the evening and we enjoyed one of the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
