Description: The first uptown New York location by legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa...
The first uptown New York location by legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, opened to much anticipation in the summer of 2005. Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature New Style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno and Black Cod Miso, and new creations from the wood burning oven and the hibachi table.

Different continent same food food

Visited with business colleagues whilst in New York. Top location Enjoyed the bento box. Service solid and professional. As usual the blackened cod was my favourite dish. Seemed much better value than the Londin versions.

We were there with the entire family, i.e. Four Children plus daughter in law. Our son in law was missing. Our daughter selected the dishes, but they were all amazing and the Sancerre wine was very good as well. Probably the best meal I have had in NY

Great meal, but very noisy atmosphere... Expect to pay around 120 $ for regular meal. Very attentive service. One of the better places in NY.

This Japanese restaurant was a great experience. The culinary creations were amazing. The only draw back was the portions were a bit on the skimpy side which is the reason I gave 4 stars (I would give 4.5 but T.A. does not allow half stars)

There are pretenders..there are others who copy...then there is the original...NOBU!!!! From the lobster shitake salad, yellowtail sahishimi, tempura crab etc....where to start and where to end. Heaven on earth. If I had one meal left to eat it my life it would be here.

Nobu 57 still attracts a lot of regulars, tourists and the odd local New Yorker who for whatever reason have not dined at this popular restaurant. Without a reservation it took me 45 minutes to get a seat at the Sushi Bar which surprisingly seemed empty - I give the friendly guy at the entrance the benefit of the doubt!... More

Nobu is a well known trendy restaurant and we had high expectations which were not let down because the food and service was great. We ordered like 10 different dishes to share and everything was top quality with the black cod probably being the favorite. The ambience is cool and lively with lounge music playing slightly loud so don't go... More

I've eaten here over several years maybe 5 times. The food and service was very good (as always) but I think they must have really jacked the prices up recently. It is not often I receive the bill and have to ask "is this for the table or my share?" ... sadly it was the latter!

Tonight I had an unpleasant experience at Nobu. After arriving at 10pm to meet colleagues for a client dinner, I was greeted by Briana and her team. Unsure of the reservation name, my boss and I were politely invited to check our coats and look upstairs for our party - unsure of what name the reservation was under or whether... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
