Description: The first uptown New York location by legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, opened to much anticipation in the summer of 2005. Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature New Style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno and Black Cod Miso, and new creations from the wood burning oven and the hibachi table.

Let me start with our first moments in the restaurant...then I'll get to the tasty bits. After checking in with our party of 8 and as I started up the main staircase what do I see? None other than Sir Paul McCartney and his dinner guests passing us on the staircase! I managed to blurt out a friendly, "hello" before... More

We were recommended Nobu on 57th by our taxi driver as the best Japanese in New York City and it did not disappoint. Everything from the service to the delicious food exceeded our greatest expectations. One of the best restaurants we've ever visited.

We tried to get a reservation at Nobu 57. but could not get one so my wife & I did the next best thing, we ate dinner in the bar area. The bar area was packed, but even with that, our server, Collette, was outstanding. She was gracious & very effective serving a bunch of customers & maneuvering through the... More

As an avid fan of Nobu Matsuhisha I like to try his restaurants whenever I can and I would have to say that Nobu 57 is probably my favourite one so far. The menu features all the Nobu favourites ie: Yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, Rock shrimp tempura with creamy spicy sauce, Miso Black Cod etc... as well as dishes unique... More

Service is meticulous - we sat at the sushi bar. Very well paced, fish is so fresh...just such unique food and outstanding. Tons of expensive restaurants in NYC, but this is so well worth it. Drinks were clever - overall outstanding.

Fantastic food, Nobu never disappoints. We went here for lunch and had the best meal of our stay in New York. We went to quite a few restaurants in New York during our 8 day visit and most were very good. None of them were cheap and we expected Nobu to be a lot more expensive than the rest but... More

I went on a Tuesday night, full of people, you'd need a reservation. I had a great dinner, delicious food, accurate presentation, excellent service. I will surely come back for a longer dinner. Big spaces, nice guests.

Visited whilst in New York after hearing excellent reviews and was not disappointed. We had a drink in the bar area before dinner and the bar man made us bespoke cocktails after enquiring about our preferences, and the excellent service continued through to the restaurant. Food was delicious and the waiters knowledge of the menu was apparent, and useful as... More

Great food. Atmosphere perhaps a bit busy for some people, but didn't bothered is at all. Waiter was well trained about the menu and was able to guide us through the best pick from the extensive list of dishes. Good wine list. Comes with a price tag though, but not too high considering the location ant quality!
