Rich earth tones of orange, red and brown impart warmth to the cool and tranquil space. Thin tapestries of translucent rose fabric are embellished with flame motifs and suspended from the ceiling, creating a separate seating area perfect for a light bite near the large front windows. Famous for its unique and mouth-watering interpretation of Japanese cuisine. Upscale Japanese fare is given a jolt of new life through an innovative use of ingredients, resulting in refreshing and exciting flavor combinations. Crispy Rice with Spice Tuna, an addictive version of the classic spicy tuna roll, featuring warm grilled rice topped with a thick layer of cool, savory tuna. Baked Crab Roll, for which succulent fresh crab meat is wrapped in a thin rice paper dotted with sesame seeds and baked to perfection. Hamachi Fusion with Soy-Citrus and Truffle Essence all artfully plated by Koi’s skilled culinary team.

Nice place

Been here 2 or 3 times between april and june 2015. The place is nice, well furnished and quite big. There some music playing and the overall atmosphere is inviting. I can only partially comment on the food, as it it mostly fish-based (japanese) and I don't eat fish. However, what I had, was well... read more

We stayed at The Bryant Park Hotel, but I only ate breakfast at KOI. It was a well constructed omelet made with my choices of fillings, very light and fluffy. I noticed other items being served and they all looked well prepared. Definitely a convenient and good place for breakfast. We did not have time to dine in the evening... More

We enjoyed dinner - especially the cocktails and the entrees. The Miso glazed Black Cod and the Roasted Duck Breast were wonderful. The sharing plates are a little small for actually sharing - but more people at the table allow for tasting more dishes. I don't think the prices were too expensive for midtown.

My husband wanted sushi for our 1st dinner during our getaway weekend in the city. Found this gem on trip advisor and so glad we did. Excellent service and fabulous sushi. Great location too! Highly recommend it.

I ate here on a rainy Sat night so most patrons were dressed nicely but it didn't seem a requirement. I was told reservations were required and given the number of people waiting when I left at 7:45 after an early dinner I can see that it might be a good idea Even the miso soup was marvelous! Who knew... More

I made reservations with no issues using Open Table for dinner before seeing a Broadway show. My husband and I had a great experience. The restaurant had a very chic decor in the Bryant Park hotel. We were seated right away and the manager came by a few times to ensure we were well taken care of. The food and... More

This restaurant buzzed with life from entry to exit. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful although a bit overstretched. We. Ordered a variety of foods which were all delicious. Expensive but worth it.

After a hectic Sunday sightseeing during our recent holiday we decided to risk turning up at Koi late evening without a reservation. The staff were very helpful and found us a lovely booth table, with very friendly and efficient service. Our waiter made several recommendations from the menu and the drinks we ordered arrived promptly (the ginger mojitos are deliciously... More

It is New York City, I guess, but the two of us had two rolls each and one order of salmon sashimi between us. All delicious, but the bill - a princely $73 (before tip and we had no drinks - not even a soda). I thought this was a bit dear, especially for lunch. Can't see me going back... More

Innovative sushi (but not excessively and needlessly weird, which is a problem in some "fusion" places). Great location on Bryant Park a few blocks from Times Square. Get the tuna on crispy rice--a unique and tasty dish. I would go back just for that. Front desk staff was not great--took several tries to find reservation then didn't even offer to... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
