We really enjoyed the food. We had lobster tacos that were excellent. Also enjoyed the seared tunas with foie gras, tuna tar tar and a roll. The restaurant is noisy but otherwise the atmosphere is very nice.

Second visit - went back hoping it was as good as last time (18 months ago). It was......service, food and drinks excellent (didn't bat an eyelid when I asked for a virgin mojito).

New York restaurants are always a bit uncertain (especially at reception or hostess) in terms of service - but at Koi everyone was authentic, genuine and a pleasure to interact with. And the menu was interesting and exceptional, the food was perfectly prepared and tasted wonderful and the atmosphere was ideal. Strongly recommend Koi.

Must go and order a lobster taco as a starter... Well everything was so good and worth the cost... Location is good and easy, just facing the Bryant Park.

Wonderful sushi and excellent cocktails. You half expect the seats next to you to be occupied by Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker. Amazing food, great innovative fusion style - not too fussy either, and reasonably priced given the standard and location. I'd go back, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great drinks if you can get a seat, but if you have just arrived after a long journey it's a drag to try and get somewhere to sit down and enjoy a drink.

Good service and nice range on the menu however think they should offer set menus rather than a long list to choose. Food can't be faulted. Try and avoid the tables for two a the back or your partner will just have a blank wall to stair at.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
