Lunch at Gari has been one of the most expensive meals I have ever head, but sitting at the bar and having the head chef make dish after dish specifically for you cannot be beat. Never had better sushi. Well worth the cost.

Most recent of many trips to Gari on the Columbus. The quality of the fish and presentation is unmatched. Loses a star for pushy waitstaff, always trying to upsell. Count on $100/person minimum, substantially more if you drink sake.

We stopped here for an unplanned meal after walking by. All the dishes we had were really good - tuna tartar, Chirashi "Matsu" (assorted sashimi with rice on the side), eel and sautéed scallop nigiri and the hand rolls - fresh salmon maki & fatty tuna with scallion. The warm dishes we tried were also good - crab dumplings and... More

Asking for $1.5 for extra ginger - speaks for itself, we didn't like it. This is the way how to make us bitter.

When I made a reservation for 4, for 5:30 on a Saturday night a credit card was required. We got there and were the only ones there. They wanted us to seat us right by the door. No other tables were occupied. Hate when they do that! Anyway, we switched. The sushi is high end, but not the highest of... More

We managed to find a table here on a very wet Sunday afternoon. Just lucky to walk in when a table was being prepared after walking past a number of other very busy establishments. We were welcomed warmly and very courteously. The tables were roomy and the décor quite elegant. The menu was quite modern and the servings quite small... More

Loved the atmosphere, the staff were great, and the food was brilliant. I'd go back in a second. The Omekase was delicious. I was surprised at the sushi's freshness and the staff's helpfulness.

Lot's of great recommendations but the experience was not ... Very pricey for sushi but that could be ok if quality is delivered ! More of a neighborhood restaurant that used to be good.

Personal service. Great food. Excellent Omekase. We are regulars. They charge NY prices, but the food and experience are worth it.

When I arrived for lunch, I wasn't sure if the restaurant was even in operation, although I had made a reservation. It was empty on a Sunday afternoon. Granted, the food is still VERY GOOD, but for the prices (on the expensive side... $50 for a lunch set), you can go elsewhere with all the other new Japanese places that... More
