We live on the Upper East Side here, and most of the "neighborhood Italians" are good but not great. Spigolo is the exception. It's much more of a destination than the others. We took our out-of-town friend who is in the restaurant business, and just returned from a trip to Paris where she had great meals, and she loved Spigolo.... more

I'd rate this three stars since I keep ratings in line with newspapers rather than online review sites... but, something about the food and service is so great that I'll relent and give it four. Nice work by front of house and sous chefs. Food is nearly exceptional, at a minimum very tasty, very clean. Expensive but thorough Italian wine... more

Spigolo opened less than a year ago on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. I live about three blocks from the restaurant, and it's probably my favorite restaurant on the Upper East Side, and one of my favorites in the city.
