lots of room for improvement

I ordered a medium rare filet mignon that arrived red and very cold. It was barely rare, not even close to medium rare. I had to send it back, and within a few minutes they did bring another one that was more plausibly medium rare--but I wouldn't have expected this kind of mix-up at a restaurant... read more

If you enjoy a great piece of meat, Smith & Wolensky is a good place to go. The steaks are delicious. The wines are a good selection and priced well. Service is professional. It has that New York City vibe which is good.

I'm a die-hard burger person and have had a majority of the Steak-house burgers which I classify in a different class compared to other (non-steakhouse) restaurants. I came for dinner and was dining solo so I wanted a quick, solid meal and knew I was ordering the burger. Ordered it Medium Rare, closer to the rare side and It was... More

We visited this place on our recent trip to NYC. We wanted somewhere where we could enjoy an authentic New York Steak. This place did not disappoint. The steaks were cooked exactly how we requested and just melted in your mouth. Our friend had the ribs and said they too were outstanding with plenty of tender meat on them. The... More

Of course the steaks are world famous, but I love the seafood tower more than anything every time I come.

This was recommended to us so we visited in a party of 9, had drinks beforehand which were expensive but very good cocktails. We were seated in what can be described as a 'wind tunnel' we were freezing and asked for the air con to be turned down...who knows whether it was. Food is extremely expensive but big portions, a... 2 of 3 steaks were cold...why bother with the pot holders on the plates? Spinach tasted like they barely thawed a box of frozen chopped spinach- no flavor whatsoever. The au gratin potatoes had velveeta in them. So disappointing. We love Capital Grille and thought this would be a step up. It was 20 steps down and twice the price.

Went recently with my family for a birthday celebration. There is not much to say except that it is a great meal and a must for steak lovers. The food was cooked as was ordered, the portions are large and it is just a great meal. My daughter ordered a fillet and lobster tail and we both agreed that it... More
