THE steak house

This is the steak house to go to when in New York City. Decor was nice and comfortable. The sever was terrific...quick whit, good sense of humor, and he knew his stuff. The food came at a good pace. We didn't feel rushed in any way but we weren't wondering where our food was either. The food... read more

Having been to the s&w in Boston I thought I knew what to expect. But boy were we in for a treat. Jonathon and Zoron were very good, they were amazing and as soon as u meet them u know you're in for a treat. If you can, request either one of them. The filet mignon is amazing and it... More

My friends and I chose this restaurant as are one "big fancy meal" in New York City. We chose right. We knew the steaks would be big so we all got our own starters, split a couple steaks and splits a couple sides. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. The staff was amazing and seeing as we were... More

Went to restaurant 11pm on a Thursday night. Tried to find somewhere nice after Mets game. Service ok but slow. Servers yelled at each other while at our table. Calamari burnt. Salads drab. Filet good but atmosphere took away from overall experience. Expected better based of reviews and reputation. Disappointed.

Yes, we keep coming back when we visit New York, but that is for a good reason, quality food, service and great people. It is an upscale, pricewise, restaurant for a family but it is so good. Their steaks are done to perfection as ordered, cocktails perfect....thank you Ollie, service with a smile and always great banter from Stevie. Desert... More

Best steak ever. Great service, food arrived in time and it was cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed the wine too.

Mi wife made reservations for my birthday at S&W on 7/17/15. We were about 15 minutes early and one of the hostesses asked us to go to the bar. While at the bar we were met with a bartender who seemed indefferent and really not pleasant. May be this is his way of doing business. We waited at the bar... More

John F, our waiter was great! 10 oz filet mignons were fantastic! Creamy Ceasar salads and great desserts. I ordered the coconut cake which my brother thought was better than his pecan pie. So we ended up switching! They can do gluten and dairy free for allergies. The burrata was kinda sweet for fresh mozzarella. Would definitely visit again altho... More

My wife and I recently had dinner at this restaurant and were very impressed with the steak. We also had a salad and side dish. Everything was very good. The staff was attentive even though the restaurant was full at 10:00 p.m. - on a Tuesday night. We had reservations and fortunately we were lead to our table within a... More

My family's meal at S&W was the highlight of our Manhattan trip. Our server, (Frank?) epitomized what you'd expect from a New York City steakhouse waiter. He was informative and funny, quick yet attentive. When my steak arrived he questioned whether it was medium rare and when I cut into it, he deemed it over cooked and immediately gave me... More

Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy.
