Great food!

I went to have dinner with a friend on a Thursday night, the wait was not very long but it was a late dinner when we arrived, the place is really small so I would go for an early dinner or late night. We order the miso spicy ramen and the regular spicy broth ramen, both of them were delicious... read more

The evening was -14 and growing colder. I had been recommended the restaurant and had just arrived from the UK and had to eat. I made the special journey down to the LES and joined the queue of keen diners waiting outside. The wait was around 40 mins ... it was freezing but well worth the wait, I got a... More

I visited minca last nigh with a couple of friends and I was so surprised with the quality of their ramen! it was so well cooked!I previously tried 7 different ramen in NYC but wasn't completely happy. This however was the first time I completely finished all of it. I'm definitely coming back here every time I'll be around

How do you recover from the night before while crammed into this little ramen factory? Try the pot stickers and the spicy ramen. Cured.

I've been to Minca and Kambi for years and have soon realized this is the best ramen in NYC. Minca was the original and Kambi is it's sister restaurant serving the same dishes on 14th street between 1st and 2nd avenue. The restaurant specialized is several different types of broth but you can't go wrong with the basic either thick... More

Having lived in Japan for 5 years, I thought I had the best ramen until dining here. It's a small place with people waiting to get inside; it is so well worth the experience. It's a hidden jewel. Oishi desu!

This restaurant only takes cash. There may be seats for 20+, and I don't believe there was AC, but the line was long when we arrived for a Sunday brunch. Since it was the first time for us so we weren't too picky. Pretty much we picked our orders by looking at the pictures while we were waiting for roughly... More

This is my favorite ramen hands down! Right in Alphabet City and a real hole in the wall, it is absolutely worth the wait if there is one at the time. The ramen is amazing and at a really good price for the size. They are also great if you want to get take out, but unfortunately they stop delivery... More

I was visiting New York on business for a couple of weeks and having had a lot of free time to myself, made a point of going a bit off the beaten track away from the corporate-style Midtown Manhattan and was recommended the East Village / Alphabet City area by some colleagues. I was certainly glad to have found Minca,... More

My partner and I loved minca! The ramen was delicious. We both had tonkotsu soup with thin noodles. The soup was flavoursome and the pork strips literally melt in your mouth. My only regret is that we didn't visit minca a second time before we left New York. Defintely visit if you're a big ramen fan!

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
