Description: Geoffrey Zakarian has re-launched the iconic Palm Court at The PLAZA HOTEL...
Geoffrey Zakarian has re-launched the iconic Palm Court at The PLAZA HOTEL with a complete renovation helmed by Master Architect Thierry Despont. Zakarian showcases classic American menus from morning to evening, and while staying true to its original design intent, Despont has brought the grand feeling of Central Park indoors, with garden elements such as caning, large potted plants, four soaring palm trees and an oval trellised bar anchoring the room, creating an ambience that feels warm, private and glamorous. Bespoke furnishings provide a relaxed, yet elegant setting well-suited for either a professional breakfast meeting or an evening of cocktails crafted by mixologist Brian Van Flandern. Afternoon Tea truly shines as well with custom tableware and china, a tea list with worldly depth, and of course, a bit of Eloise too. This elegant room marked with its stained glass dome and impressive height adds a touch of old New York to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality

Very Elegant

Visted the Palm Court at the Plaza for the New York afternoon tea. Knowing that it was expensive. It is very elegant with beutifull surroundings. Good service and food and drinks although on the small portion size of things.

I fulfilled a long-time wish to have high tea at the Plaza Hotel and I loved it! The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. We opted for the high tea version with a glass of Veuve Clicquot champagne and the whole experience along with the beautiful surroundings was unforgettable. I highly recommend high tea at the Palm Court... More

This is a wonderful place to have breakfast. You feel totally pampered and attended to. It was expensive (£90 for 2adults and a child) but a one off. To cut the price easily, when the waiter comes round offering juice, say no. The OJ is $12 a glass! If we had realised we could have saved ourselves £24. However, it... More

An oasis in NYC. You will forget about the hustle and bustle happening right outside the hotel doors. We has light meal and cocktails. Son had chicken. Husband had Chicken. I had the cheese selection and a killer Mint Julep..muddled and served in a proper Julep cup..excellent. Very elegant. Fun place to go if you like to people watch too!

The best way I can describe Palm Court would be that it's like eating at your great grand mothers house with mediocre food. Upon entering the restaurant we were told we needed to wait 10 minutes despite the fact that 80% of the tables were open. for a starter, I ordered the french onion soup, which was decent, no complaints.... Once a year I dress up, put on a hat, and have high tea at the Palm Court in the Plaza hotel. For a couple of hours I am one of the beautiful people. The setting couldn't be more lovely and the service is attentive and friendly. The menus are online. My friend and I order two different high teas... More

Set in one of America's, the world's most elegant and famous hotels in the very center of Manhattan's most beautiful locations this is eye candy that is stunningly gorgeous, it is simply palatial in every respect, Sitting here, enjoying a glass of expensive bubbly makes one believe they must have fallen asleep and awoken as royalty. The food should be... More

In the Plaza Hotel, a very elegant room, with, yes, palm trees. Although we stopped just for a drink, we ended up eating dinner. We started with cheese gougeres, and moved onto sliders, and then Caesar salad with chicken. Delicious. With 2 drinks each, the total came to about $100, so it's not cheap. But go there and think of... More

I am very appalled that your establishment has no dress code. With high tea comes a certain standard of dress code especially with your beautiful Palm Court. Why would anyone be willing to spend money if they are surrounded by people in sweats and flip flops? I was trying to enjoy my pastries and tea but couldn't because I was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
