Description: Geoffrey Zakarian has re-launched the iconic Palm Court at The PLAZA HOTEL...
Geoffrey Zakarian has re-launched the iconic Palm Court at The PLAZA HOTEL with a complete renovation helmed by Master Architect Thierry Despont. Zakarian showcases classic American menus from morning to evening, and while staying true to its original design intent, Despont has brought the grand feeling of Central Park indoors, with garden elements such as caning, large potted plants, four soaring palm trees and an oval trellised bar anchoring the room, creating an ambience that feels warm, private and glamorous. Bespoke furnishings provide a relaxed, yet elegant setting well-suited for either a professional breakfast meeting or an evening of cocktails crafted by mixologist Brian Van Flandern. Afternoon Tea truly shines as well with custom tableware and china, a tea list with worldly depth, and of course, a bit of Eloise too. This elegant room marked with its stained glass dome and impressive height adds a touch of old New York to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality

Afternoon Tea Worthy of a Brit!

We booked afternoon tea at The Plaza for my brother's 30th, and it delivered everything we had hoped. The staff and atmosphere were great. The sandwiches, scones and desserts were as good as any you would find in London. We found the $62 per head price quite reasonable given what you get for... read more

$25 per mimosa in an all-tourist setting. Whew! Thats hard to take. For that price I expect Bobby Short to be singing to me in a tuxedo.... Oh well. I'm still glad the Palm Court is still here. They're not going to see much business from me though.

I love High Tea. That's all I have to say. This is the second time I have been here in 16 months. It's great. The room is opulent and the staff fabulous. This time I was there for a wedding reception. There were 6 of us. The food is just marvellous. It's worth the cost and is such a wonderful,... More

More food than I expected, but the high quality was not a surprise. They spoiled our daughter with a memorable tea.

We were a group of six close friends celebrating a special birthday. The High Tea at the Plaza lived up to all of our expectations, and made the day very memorable for the birthday girl. The ambience, presentation, and service was top notch. We each ordered the New Yorker high tea. For each two persons, there was a huge three... More

I was so impressed with the full high tea service at the Palm Court. The spread of tea sandwiches, scones and desserts was incredible. I was also impressed with the personalized touch added as they brought out some additional macaroons with a lit candle to help celebrate my mom's birthday. The ambiance was very nice and I would definitely recommend... More

When in NYC, we always stop here for afternoon tea. The hotel is gorgeous, as well as the Palm Court. This is a must see while visiting NYC!

Stopped by for tea at the Palm Court...were redirected to an adjoining lounge where tea is under $65 per person. The influx of wealthy Russian oligarch's is very evident here at the Plaza. Russian spoken at every nearby table, and accented with the wait staff. A good cuppa tea and snacks for a pretty hefty price.

While we arrived to first go to the champagne bar we were very disappointed with the lay out of the champagne bar so we went to the palm court and so glad we did Lovely welcome, decor and setting was perfect. We had canapé and champagne which did not disappoint. Service was as one would expect from a five star... More

We had a 5 year old who loves Eloise, as did her mother. So our three generation trio attended this special meal/tea at Palm Court. Food was wonderful, service was over the top, setting magnificent! Make some memories on your trip to NYC. Be sure to visit the Eloise store with your little one! So cute!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
