See and be seen at one of Manhattan’s most celebrated dining spots, where you’ll enjoy a globe-spanning culinary adventure in a spectacular setting. Soaring 30-foot ceilings, multi-level dining platforms, two fully stocked bars and a centralized open kitchen create an eye-popping visual counterpart to the restaurant’s mouth-watering cuisine. During warm weather months, China Grill’s outdoor patio offers a calming oasis away from the bustling midtown streets.

Good lunch spot.

Had the restaurant week lunch there. Big portions for each course, including the scallops and pot stickers as appetizers, the pasta and flank steak for mains, and shared sides and dessert. The pasta was more Italian than Chinese, as were the deserts. Eating outside in the courtyard was nice on a... read more

China Grill here in New York is probably one of the most reliable and delicious restaurants imaginable. Always innovating, always bringing some funky new thing to the menu. They never rest and that is a great thing! I've been a frequent flyer there for 15 years or more and hope to continue being one for the next fifteen ENJOY LOVE... More

The China Grill Restaurant on west 53rd at 6th Ave. Is a place I make sure to go every time I am in NYC!! I always order the Confucious Chicken Salad, with sesame ginger dressing, and I can never finish it!! This time we started with Spicy Beef Dumplings, which were terrific. The dessert we ordered to share is their... More

You will not get a lot of change from $50 per person without drinks at this upmarket restaurant, but the food is very good and the ambience is pleasant. It couldn't be more convenient if you have had a long day wandering round the fabulous MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) which is just across the street. On a warm summer's... More

China Grill is located @ ground level @ 52nd and Sixth Avenue. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors and it was great, almost forgot that you were in New York. Service is excellent, probably the best I have received in New York. Meals were good and on time, I would recommend this restaurant for business although... More

We were greeted and seated promptly, none of the annoying NYC nonsense of keeping diners waiting for an obviously empty table. The menu looks very appetising, with a wide range of Asian fusion dishes. Oscar our waiter recommended 4 starters and 3 mains, we ordered 5 and 4 and really struggled, as the portions are large! From the starters the... More

It's not a Chinese, despite its name, more Asian fusion. We ordered and shared a large select of dishes an all were delicious. It looks small from the outside but opens up and is a spacious away from the entrance. Busy, so booking recommended. They deliver, too.

I've been here plenty of times so I should finally review it. This is basically my go to place for clean, delicious Asian food in this neck of the woods. Their ambiance is okay because sometimes it's packed and vibrating with energy, while other days are really dead. Drinks during happy hour are good and VERY strong. They usually have... More

Fun business group dinner place. old favs are crispy spinach and fried calimari. still delish. However the ladies room was so disgusting (also no toilet paper) that we had to use the men's room. I have no idea what's going on at this place but I will not be back. I've seen gas stations with better bathroom situations.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
