The "Modern" restaurant is located on the ground floor of MOMA and can be accessed even if you do not plan to visit the Museum. It's very Art Deco in its design and the food is just superlative! The concept of the menu is quite different and you can eat as much or as little as you want by selecting... More

Went there for a late lunch after the strong ratings of other TripAdvisors and WOW what a meal. Had their signature Beef Wellington and it was absolutely spectacular. The sommelier was excellent and recommended perfect wines all afternoon and my fiance and I left their absolutely stuffed and delighted. Well worth it's rating as one of the best restaurants in... Eclectic atmosphere and good food. Very creative menu. Great location for midtown activies but not too far from the theater district.

we went there for lunch and we were not disappointed. The place was modern yet very welcoming and warm. The service was exceptional so was the food. The presentation of the plates was so amazing that we took pictures. Exquisite experience, 5 stars experience both for food and service.

Our party of four reserved a table at The Modern on a Sunday evening, following a Broadway show, and now we can't wait to go back. It is my new favorite restaurant in Manhattan. The atmosphere is relaxed, with decor that is, of course, modern but not cold. The seats and tables are comfortable and welcoming. Best of all. the... More

It is such a beautiful setting to begin with. And the food is exceptional. Everything we ordered was perfect, particularly the foie gras & orange tart, but it was the "extras" that were impressive, such as a squash soup that was the best I've ever had. It's pricey, but worth it for a special treat.

Between my wife and I, we ordered eight different things (we both had a four-course), and everything was wonderfully prepared and plated so sinfully beautifully! It is uncommon that we would find absolutely nothing but compliments over eight different dishes. But this is one of those rare occasions. Service was impeccable, and everyone we encountered was professional and courteous. It... More

It is a beautiful place to have lunch after or before your visit to the museum but don't expect a good restaurant and a excellence of service. The food is ok. And service is awful. They take off your plate even if you don't finish to eat, they take off the plates of the table even if there is still... More

We went to the modern as it was recommended by a number of friends as a must go place in New York. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was relaxed, not super formal like a lot of high end restaurants, and the service was friendly. This is certainly a top restaurant (with prices reflective of this) but i wouldn't hesitate... More

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
