Lots of choice for vegans

Gorgeous pizzas, lots of Vegan choices. Had the Daiya pizza, closest thing ive ever had to the real thing since turning vegan! The base is nice and crispy and the sauce and cheese is yuuuummm! On a hot day though, this cafe turns into a oven. It was so hot in there I could barely bare to stand... read more

If you want pizza made to please your special palette, this place is it. Their menu says "Kosher Dairy Viva Herbal Pizzeria Organic, Gourmet, Vegetarian, Vegan." That seems to cover a lot of ground, but the menu inside has much more. Here, you can even order a pizza with cornmeal crust and soy cheese. But be careful! When you get... More

I had a slice of the vegan cheese (Daiya) pizza and it was very tasty! I haven't had cheese in almost two years and this really hit the spot. I was really surprised by the taste and texture, pretty darn good! The slice was big and the crust was thin & yummy. I would go back next time I'm in... More

To all my veggie, vegan, and kosher keeping pals: this IS the place! Great slices, and good tea selection. A treasure!

Yummy kosher pizza place with funky variety of choices in the east village. Good place to go before/after bar hopping.

It's been almost two years since I lived in Manhattan, and I still dream of this pizza. One slice really does fill you up nicely, but if you're especially hungry, the 3 garlic knots for a dollar are splendid, and the vegan chocolate cake slice is scrumptious. I don't recommend the vegan tofu cheesecake, though. I can't remember the name... More

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
