Way Overpriced

We needed to grab a reasonably quick meal before leaving the city and decided to pop into Lindey's, which was right across from our hotel. I know we are in NYC and I know midtown is expensive real estate, but $25 per person for eggs and toast is really steep. We were in the city for a casual... read more

Not what sort of question you expect but after all you are in New York in a deli Have the corned beef sandwich. If there are 2 of you split it cause you won't get through it. If you are feeling like some salad go for it, but they won't take some of the meat off the 2 giant slices... More

Cheesecake and coffee, that's all I had here and I have to say that both were good. The cheesecake, in particular, was excellent! The place was pretty crowded and I believe that's the reason why the lady was kinda hurried.

I don't get the appeal...what I had was really bad. I had a splice of the Strawberry Cheesecake...I would not recommend it....there is better out there! They charged over $10.00 for a slice....I went to Juniors the day before and mine was cheaper and was five times better!!!!!!

We needed somewhere about 10pm at night near our hotel to eat when we arrived in NYC. We found Lindys, which had a reasonable amount on the menu. We ordered and ate mozzerella sticks and burgers. The food was fine, nothing special. Same with the service! However our biggest gripe was the price we paid for the quality we got.... More

It's a diner - food nice and good service, but ridiculously expensive. Example - Ninety four bucks for three basic breakfasts! In its defence plenty of other diners (many highly rated here on on TA) aren't a great deal cheaper. I really don't get NY mentality - it's the most expensive city in the world and you're expected to tip,... More

Nice, convenient, but not cheap. There are plenty of places to get a good breakfast for half of what you would pay here.

I had a $10.00 meal and paid $23.00 for corned beef hash from a can. The can must of had a picture of a dog on it. The coffee was warm not hot, and a refill was declined. I asked for poached eggs and was told 'we don't poach'. I should have walked out then. But, no I suffered through... More

Expensive! Ordered 2 plain waffles and 2 cups of coffee $44 and it was not good. One waffle came out lukewarm and we were told the other would be out in a few minutes. Toaster waffles are better.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
