We stopped at this restaurant a couple of times because of its proximity to our hotel. The first time wasn't too bad but the coffee was weak. The second time I had ice tea. The tea was so bad I had to send it back. The service is good but the coffee and tea are questionable.

Stopped here for breakfast on our second morning in New York and enjoyed the bacon bagels so much we returned the next day for brunch and repeated the order, served by good humoured staff.

You can't visit NY without eating in Lindy's. There NT cheesecake is a must. The famous lemon cheesecake won't disappoint.

Known particularly for its NY breakfasts this restaurant is located in a busy and interesting part of town. However, the meal was nothing special and overpriced. Service was patchy.

I have now visited twice from the UK and had late night Cheesecake here. Older lady served us and she was friendly and polite. We ordered two Cokes and two cheesecake slices. She said she'll bring one coke and two glasses as it was free refills and we only had to pay for one; extremely nice of her.

Immediately adjacent to the 7th Avenue Metro Station and a short walk from our hotel, Lindys fulfilled our expectation of the NYC breakfast experience with booth seating, bottomless coffees, attentive and friendly staff and one of the best omelettes we have had for some time. I held off until our last day in town before I succumbed to their strawberry... More

I wish we had kept on walking. We stopped in on our first night in New York knowing the restaurant's older history - we didn't know that Lindy's was now owned under TGI Friday's, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, etc. Our server took our order in reasonable time but practically ignored us after. Two tables (one of 7) were seated, served,... More

We tried this place as it was close to our hotel and seemed to be quite popular. I guess everyone else in there was a first time diner as I doubt they get many people go back, I only wish I'd checked out the reviews before hand The waiter was honestly the rudest I have ever encountered, he seemed angry... I grew up in NY and have eaten at Lindy's in the past. Wow how it has gone down in quality. Was visiting NY with some friends who have not been there regularly and we stopped for lunch. The service was awful and the place was not crowded at all. Food was average to poor. Would not return.

Over priced bland versions of New York iconic food. Really slow service on a non-busy day. Of the three meals we got, one was mediocre, the other two bland. The cheesecake was good, but with the extremely slow service and the steep price of over $100 for 3 sandwiches, 2 drinks, and one piece of cheesecake, we would never go... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
