This is what happens when you're hungry, you're an international tourist and don't have data access to check reviews in advance, and you see a sign stating "World Famous Cheesecake." - I was shocked to pay $5 for a glass of coca cola. Wow! - They advertise themselves as having the best cheesecake in new york and this couldn't be... More

We stepped outside the Sheraton, looking for breakfast on our first morning in New York and decided to give Lindy's a shot, hey it's world famous, the sign says so. The potato pancakes were divine. Same with the cheese blintzes. What was really amazing was the waitress Augustina. I ordered hot tea the first morning, she served it with a... More

Our party of four went there for lunch and asked to be seated outside. The manager took us along with four menus and seated us. After 20 minutes of NO service we tried to get servers attention as he walked by ten feet away and he glanced at us with disdain. Another waiting table saw this and got up and... More

Visited to try the "world famous" cheesecake. Rather forgettable, not very nice. The base is sponge, not crumb and the cheesecake itself is ordinary. Also overpriced at $10.40 + tip. The service was bad too...not attentive at all.

Came here as saw a sign saying new yorks best cheesecake. Cheesecake was horrible if you want a good cheesecake I would go to juniors few blocks up. Service was bad and waitress pretty rude also demanded a 15% tip as when we gave her the money the waitress refused and said we have not paid enough if the cheesecake... More

My daughter and I ate dinner at Lindy's on 21 March. The restaurant was not busy yet the service was horrible. We ordered our meals and the waiter did not write them down. The food took a long time and he forgot my drink (had he written it down I'm sure I would have received it). The food was good,... More

Very very poor. Waiter was not the most helpful, and breakfast was undercooked and overpriced. Wish I had read the reviews prior to going.

My husband and I visited Lindy's as I wanted to find a diner/deli that did pastrami on rye bread. Well we were not disappointed. There was a huge choice of food on the menu and the service was brilliant, very quick and friendly. Our waitress (blonde haired lady) was very helpful. The food was fantastic and we tried the cheesecake... More

We came here for a late breakfast and found the staff to be welcoming and the service rapid and good. The food was not memorable, but it was good and with a generous serving. My friend and I shared our order and there waiter was very gracious about it. The atmosphere was very 1950's, and that is part of the... More
