Breakfast with a 'quirky' attitude?

The breakfast was good and there sure was plenty of it. But the server was 'quirky' at best. It took us the whole meal to decide he probably wasn't just being rude. He didn't come across as friendly to tourists that's for sure. Breakfast for 4 came to roughly $125.

Lindy's was nothing special! I have had other NYC deli food and this was probably the biggest let down! We ordered the Billy Crystal thinking that it would be enough for two of us. It was "just" enough and not nearly as big as a sandwich that you would get at Katz's or another NYC deli staple. Staff wasn't exceptional... More

We were advised to try their cheesecake, which was delicious. However, the staff were not as pleasant as other places, although our waiter indicated he wanted the higher service charge, which we declined to give on this occasion!

This deli has been in NYC for about 100 years, everything is good ( they talk about this place in the 1950's movie Guys and Dolls) , try the cheese cake and the pastrami

I went there with my girlfriend. Waiter and manager were very unfriendly. We asked if it was possible to sit outside which wasn't at that moment but they said in ten minutes. 30min later we were still not seated. Another 15min to be seated and then we got absolutely overpriced food that was overpriced. A real disappointment of food. We... More

the meal was fine, Homestyle meatloaf. However, the cheesecake is everything it claims to be. The pineapple cheesecake was unbelievably good, strawberry cheesecake probably the best I've ever had. There were four of us, each one of us got a different cheesecake and they were all delicious

There were three of us here and had a main meal, the waitress was poor and couldn't even remember the simple things like one of us was drinking a diet drink. I ordered a steak rare and when it came it was more well done served with cold mash! My friends meals were ok but barely warm! I left most... More

Yes, we fell for it. But in our defence, it was pouring rain and we were starving. Otherwise, there is no reason why anyone would go and spend 70$ on below average food, smallest ever glass of very poor quality orange juice and coffee that looked and tasted like dirty water. The staff are slow, rude and they seem to... More

We were in the city, me, wife and boys aged 15 and 12, couldn't stand to wait in line for an hour for Carnegie Deli so wandered down to Lindys. I hadn't been there for 30 years but remembered it used to be pretty good. The corned beef was dry and greasy, the kids had burgers which were at best... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
