NOT the best cheesecake in town!

VERY pricey for the type of food they serve. All sandwich's on the menu are about $22 and the friend chicken was $25. Our food took minutes to come out as we were told they only had one chef in the kitchen. I ordered the fried chicken and the second bite I pulled off the bone, it was FROZEN in... read more

Dropped by for breakfast, sadly we forgot to check Tripadvisor first. Food was poor, very expensive. If I had paid half the price, it would still be a robbery. Hostess was very rude, and almost bullied som foreign visitors that where not that fluent in English. She was not happy at all when they only ordered a few drinks. The... More

I wanted to try the famous cheesecake mentioned in "Guys and Dolls". It was expensive, but good. I would never have been able to eat both a meal and the cheesecake. All of the dessert portions looked very large. Service was good.

You have to go hear and try the NY cheesecake it mind blowing. It's just too good a place to eat a nice evening snack or something like that.

Now there were 9 of us. 7 of those kids 3-18 but our bill was almost $200. Service was desperately slow. Portions mediocre. Cheesecake was delicious (we shared three slices @$11 each). Not amazing. 2.5 stars is closer than 3. It wasn't dreadful but we would probably only go back for the cheesecake and eat at a food truck first... More

Great cheesecake. Pricey but hey, its New York. Great place to munch and enjoy some people watching at any time.

If you're really hungry and find yourself in front of Lindy's (happens more often than you would think) keep walking and head for the food trucks at the corner, eat, then go back to Lindy's for cheesecake and coffee. The Carnegie Deli across the street was closed. We spent over $60 on really small cheese blintzes, stale cheese, no topping... More

Lindy's is another of Manhattan's storied delis, catering to the Broadway crowd. Fare is typical deli, but we went on our hunt for great cheesecake. Lindy's did not disappoint; it served up a good, tasty and drier-than-most baked offering. Food at the other tables looked good, with good-sized portions and satisfied-looking patrons.

We went to Lindys as it was only a couple of doors along from our hotel and it looked like somewhere convenient and easy to eat. The service staff were a little chaotic - they just seemed to be so random and like it was bums on seats and you were in and then back out! Also, it was so... More

We sat outside on a Friday evening. The service was slow although there were not many people there. When the food came, it was mediocre, although plentiful. We shared a piece of the famous cheesecake, and although I freely admit I am not a fan of cheesecake... this one REALLY made me realize why I don't care for it.. maybe... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
