Restaurant was nice. Staff is friendly. Food was average and averagely priced. I had the eggplant fusili wich was $16 for a decent amount of pasta. No wait to get in on a Friday night.

We took lasagna and received it very quickly. It was clearly microwaved, the pastas were hard and the little amount of sauce seemed to be light tomato soup. There was no flavour and cost 18$. We were very disapointed. This restaurant would be perfect for Gordon Ramsay's kitchen nightmares. Avoid this restaurant!

It's a cliché to seek out an Italian eatery in New York; we first went to Via Italia in 2004 because it was close to our hotel and we couldn't be bothered walking far after traveling all day. Imagine our surprise when we happen to have walked into what remains the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to - and... More

My wife and I had spent a whole day walking Manhattan, and returned hungry to the theater district. We spotted this small place and took advantage of the early hour to dine. Italian was spoken by the staff so we had high hopes of authentic fare. The food was incredible and the waiter couldn't do enough for us. Folks, don't... More

We have been going to this restaurant for many years when our theater is nearby. We have always had a delicious meal, but more than that we have been treated like guests in the owner's home. Ask for his special olive oil and he races down to the kitchen to prepare it. We were welcomed back last night like old... More

We stayed next door, on 46th St.,and ate twice at Via Italia. The service is excellent and the food at the high end of italian cuisine. Recommended when you're between 5th and 6th avenues.

This was a great little restaurant close to our hotel. We were looking for something good but not to far as we were tired from our trip. We were seated right away in a nicely done space with a very friendly waiter. The owner was wonderful. He had great energy and an even better voice! I ordered the fettuccini alfredo... More

Restaurant felt like a place the locals would go. The service was excellent, however the waiter tried to "upsell" with each request and it was a bit annoying. We all enjoyed the food, calamari was only fair - a bit too chewy - but everything else was great. Atmosphere is pretty good and it wasn't a kitchy touristy place. Prices... More

The food was delicious and not too dear. The waiters were always smiling, and made sure every thing was ok. It was nice to have Italian not just burgers lol

This is a restaurant that tries to take advantage of tourists - unpriced specials, bill returned with service already filled in. The unpriced specials are more expensive than any other Italian restaurant in the area. Avoid at all costs.
