Definitely NOT the usual experience

This was the 3rd visit to this small local trattoria, family run, in New York City near 2nd and 52nd. Traditional southern Italian dishes well prepared. Sauces were prepared as you like The ambiance was friendly with a live piano background. Perfect for after a busy day with simple and pleasurable evening

This Italian restaurant reminded us of old fashioned Italian places we went to in our childhood. Crispy excellent Italian bread like Grandma used to get on Arthur Avenue. Stuffed shells, nothing outstanding but a real nostalgic taste for me. My sister had the baked ravioli parmsean and really enjoyed it.The atomosphere was cheery, with a piano player who played just... More

We were here 4 yrs ago on a previous visit to NY and just had to come back this time. We had 1 evening and spent it here. Food is good hearty Italian, inexpensive and delicious. Staff are great, and Mama Judy, aunt of the owner, Dominick Sannino, is great too. The entertainment was provided by the fabulous Chicken Delicious... More

We had a party of six on a Friday night, including some elderly relatives. The restaurant was accommodating, gave us the perfect table, and my relatives from Long Island were able to park right in front, thanks to the advice from the person who took my reservation. The surprise was how great the food and service were! There is a... More

We chose this place because it was walking distance from the Residence Inn. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and my wife got manicotti. The chicken was excellent but the manicotti was pretty tasteless. The service was not the best. Waitress took our order and we never saw her again. All in all it was not bad.

Nothing fancy here, menu is standard Italian menu without pizza. Able to keep menu prices modest because real estate is owned by owners. Table clothes typical red and white checkered ones. Good martini if Vincent the owner makes it otherwise no assigned bartender. There is a piano player perhaps three times a week. Veal dishes, steak dishes, calamari fritti, pastas... More

Another win in NYC located right down the street from our hotel. Freshly cooked Italian food, quick service, and friendly staff all around. They had a piano player performing when we arrived which was enjoyable. I would suggest you try it out.

Went to Mimi's for dinner on Saturday, June 27th. Chose Mimi's because of its closeness to our hotel on 48th and Lexington. Whenever I am in NYC, I always try to find some good, authentic Italian places. This place is now at the top of my list, surpassing others that I have dined at in Little Italy! The restaurant is... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
