Best sushi (so far) in NYC

I've had some sushi over the years in NYC, but still haven't gotten my socks blown out. Iroha is the closest, though! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, liveable prices, and very nice fish! Great experience, would def go back!!

We spent 6 nights in Brooklyn and made the trip twice to the Iroha. The food is amazing, Their udon is to die for and you can tell that it was cooked in a rich and flavourful stock. Sashimi , nigiri and Sushi are quite expensive though. The staff is friendly and the restaurant has a nice vibe.

Authentically awesome for a good reason. Deservedly crowded. True Japanese specials not available at many other eateries. Fast, polite service -- sometimes hard to understnd, but it makes the experience there all the more authentic.

I found this through trip advisor and it was really good. It is a very small place with two saloons... The one at the front ia apparently always busy, so do not hesitate to ask if they have a table available. The food was great, the sushi was amazing; my kids enjoyed it very much

This was an unexpected visit since I had a reservation at an upscale Japanese restaurant across the street...until I saw the dazzling menu displayed outdoors at Iroha. That did it! This place is a real winner! The Ikura Sushi was very good, though I have had bigger and better elsewhere. The salad dressing was unique and excellent. Salmon Teriyaki wonderful.... More

Honestly, you can't go wrong with the flavour and authenticity of the food. Not a fancy ambiance, but the prices are very reasonable. Very helpful staff with excellent sharing suggestions. We will definitely return on our next visit.

This Japanese restaurant was very close to our hotel and became our go to place after some big days sightseeing. It provided excellent food and excellent service at a good price. Terrific menu selection, provides takeaway and prompt service. It does become very busy after about 7pm.

Came here last week with a colleague. He had sushi and thoroughly enjoyed it, but I don't eat raw fish, so I went for a beef teriyaki dish which didn't disappoint. The food was good, it came quickly and the prices were reasonable. Would return.

OK, so this time we went to Iroha, the restaurant above Hagi that we went last week. Iroha serves more sushi & sashimi platters compared to their "sibling" downstairs. I love raw fish so we ordered sushi sashimi combo, bento box and assorted grilled appetizers on skewers. It was awesome! Good service, the host and waitress (Marika?) were very attentive,... More

We came upon this restaurant as we were starving and desperate for food and the menu outside looked pretty good. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and seated us. The restaurant's interior is small and simple. To eat I had some sushi followed by a sashimi salad however ordered the sushi as a starter and salad as a main. The... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
