Located next to the Doubletree on Stone St in lower Manhattan - in the financial district and near Battery Park. A great place to have a pint or two and pub grub. Tends to bit a bit loud and congested at the end of the workday and early evenings with the happy hour and beyond crowd from the financial district.... More

This Iittle pub has a great menu choice and the prices are decent for New York Manhattan area. A plus is happy hour even on the weekends!

Stopped in for a happy hour beer. Nothing happy about it. Bartender barely talked to us, music was oldies and very loud. Didn't expect all Irish music but at least something fun.

We had spent the day walking all over New York and we were ready for a nice quiet meal close to our hotel. We found Murphys just around the corner at 52 and Second Ave. It was happy hour so the drinks were reduced. we got a small table in the back and had a delightful meal. Food was not... More

So I'm a visitor and not from NYC. Murphy's is a nice little pub with basic pub food. Ours was good. It was definately not fancy, but pleasant. Good choice for a quick stop. Staff was friendly. The place isn't perfect, but it looked clean and the food was good.

I have a bias for this place. Back in the late 70's and through the mid 80's this was my regular joint for a burger and a good pint. They even had some pretty good specials from time too time.... Chicken Kiev could be found on the menu board! John (if I remember that was his name) was the owner... More

We stumbled across this place on Christmas night, looking for some where open and cheaper than the hotel. It was an excellent find. The food is reasonable, the service excellent and the staff very welcoming. In fact we made it our local for our very short stay. Thank you to Conor and the rest of the bar staff for making... More

I admit I'm 100% biased. Used to drink in here 20 years ago when I lived 50th and 2nd. There were loads of bars to choose from but this is the one we chose. 20 years later nothing much has changed only Tony now owns it rather than being behind the bar. The area's seems to have gone upmarket but... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
