I have a bias for this place. Back in the late 70's and through the mid 80's this was my regular joint for a burger and a good pint. They even had some pretty good specials from time too time.... Chicken Kiev could be found on the menu board! John (if I remember that was his name) was the owner... More

We stumbled across this place on Christmas night, looking for some where open and cheaper than the hotel. It was an excellent find. The food is reasonable, the service excellent and the staff very welcoming. In fact we made it our local for our very short stay. Thank you to Conor and the rest of the bar staff for making... More

I admit I'm 100% biased. Used to drink in here 20 years ago when I lived 50th and 2nd. There were loads of bars to choose from but this is the one we chose. 20 years later nothing much has changed only Tony now owns it rather than being behind the bar. The area's seems to have gone upmarket but... More

We were looking for a pub near the 53rd/Lexington subway station and this popped up on our phone. The posted menu looked authentic as did the exterior of the restaurant. We were greeted by the hostess at the door and seated right away. This was 9pm on a Friday night and there were only four people at the bar and... More

This bar is my favourite anywhere. The first thing I do when I arrive in New York is head for murphys. Great staff and gorgeous crispy bacon burgers

The place is very nice, real Pub atmosphere, nice service, good draft beer, very good Fish & Chips and a nice bar. Had a very nice surprise on a Chicken Parmesan dish. It's worth going.

We found Murphy's pub during a walk around. Very good food and service. As pubs go, this one was freindly and reasonably priced. We enjoyed it very much.

Read the other reviews. We visited here in August of 2012 and they each are accurate. As we are from Tennessee and not locals trying to beef up a review, it's nice to see an accurate assessment of this Irish Pub.

Been going to Murphys for over 25 years and make it one of my first stops once in NY. The irish bartenders are friendly and make you feel at home. Located at 52nd and 2nd its near many of the small reataurants and bars that make up the prime of 2nd ave . Bar is not huge but very comfortable... More
