Classy place. Decent afternoon tea (not too much to overstuff!)

Very charming place, discreet, and like stepping into a bit of England upon entry. The sandwiches and sweets were tasty, tea was good, and service extremely friendly and accommodating. I just attended a wedding shower in which my daughter is a part of. This venue was perfect for such an occasion; however, be very cautious if you are having alcohol. After I heard what was charged for the Bellinis and mimosas I was shocked. Just be sure you understand how the drinks are being priced- by glass or by... More

I've never been to a teahouse before. My girlfriends had been before and wanted to go to one in the city. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hor dourves were delicious. I only wish they had more tea choices. They offered Earl Grey and I can get that any where. I thought I would be tasting some thing I... More

Lovely townhouse atmosphere and very good food. Can be a little pricey if you add on all the extras.

On May 1 my daughter was given a Bridal Shower at King's Carriage House. It was amazing. The shower was in a private room, set up perfectly for interacting with all attendees, white flowers on the tables, service was EXCELLENT, wonderful variety of sandwiches, scones, chocolate covered strawberries, and desserts. The tea was wonderful and the pot was never empty.... More

As an Englishman in New York, this reminds me of traditional English faire; You'll love it or hate it. Personally I'm a fan. The prix fixe menu is short, but well chosen, with $4 surcharge for some options. Food was well presented and cooked to perfection. Service was relaxed, as seems appropriate to good digestion, but may appear slow to... More

I first discovered KING'S CARRIAGE HOUSE from friends who were very excited to be taking me there. It is an absolute FIND. A limited menu restaurant with service LIKE YOU REMEMBER where DINING is KING! ( No pun intended ). We were greeted so warmly and seated quickly so we could settle in. We were upstairs in the RED room... More

We went to afternoon tea. It was very nice. It was not a fancy hotel or anything that I love all different rooms. And it was a lot cheaper then the high-end places. My favorite sandwich was the chicken. And the scones were really yummy. It was a little too much food so all the desserts we took it home.... More

We spend a great Friday evening at the carriage house. It is a good value fixed price menu with a very reasonable wine list. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The staff and particularly the owner were friendly but respectful. Overall a great character filled experience. I would recommend and will definitely go back.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
