Afternoon Tea!

We were on a group tour yesterday and our group had high tea at King's Carriage House and every single member of our group had nothing but the finest comments to make! My husband and I have had tea many many places and this was as good as it comes! The restaurant itself is just so homey, warm... read more

This is a lovely spot in my neighborhood . I always wanted to go and finally did and what we found out that it was a lovely place, with okay food with pretty high prices. We only went for after dinner refreshments coffee and dessert but thought that even for the area they were high priced and somewhat inflexible with... More

The menu is prix fixe at $49.95 with a few supplements. At that price you get an app, entree and desert. That is quite a deal in NYC considering what you get and how you get it. The decor is beautiful, set in a century's old carriage house, it exudes old English nobility. Even the tea pots are modeled after... More

From the welcome To the table service and friendly staff, this establishment is top of the rock amazing. My husband and I sat and enjoyed an hour and a half of culinary delights chosen from a simple but talented menu. Inexpensive but quality is what you get here. It is tucked away in the upper manattan area of E 81... More

Had dinner here with my husband last week. We had a Groupon. I had the Filet Mignon entrée and he had the lamb. Everything was wonderful including the appetizers and the desserts. We will definitely return in the future. It is very small downstairs, where we were seated. There may be space upstairs as well.

I went for Afternoon Tea with my friend when visiting New York. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The setting is exquisite. It is great value compared to the more expensive afternoon teas served at other central hotels. Make sure you have the champagne afternoon tea, a bargain for only an extra $10. Well... More

Very charming place, discreet, and like stepping into a bit of England upon entry. The sandwiches and sweets were tasty, tea was good, and service extremely friendly and accommodating. I went with my friend and her 6-year old and 3-year old daughters and the wait staff were all very patient and accommodating with the kids...very classy. They don't use Devonshire... More

I just attended a wedding shower in which my daughter is a part of. This venue was perfect for such an occasion; however, be very cautious if you are having alcohol. After I heard what was charged for the Bellinis and mimosas I was shocked. Just be sure you understand how the drinks are being priced- by glass or by... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
