DECOR IS PRETTY AND PLEASANT

Me and my 2 co-workers went to New York(the Big City)in 2000, to visit and see The Color Purple Play, when Oprah Winfrey was 1st involved. They were selling everything on the streets(especially knock-off purses). My 1st impression was the busyness of everyone(walking fast and in a hurry). Im from... read more

My girlfriend and I found this restaurant on an app. Great place to eat, and just hang out. Everyone seemed really nice, or bartender Will was amazing. The food was great. Will definitely be back!!!!!!

I took friends who were new to NY to B. Smith's Sun., Jan. 18 for dinner and was surprised to find that many menu items were not available. I've never had that experience before. The service was also slower than usual even though the restaurant was almost empty. Granted, I usually go for brunch and always love the selections. But... More

Perfect place for a Sunday Brunch pre BDWY matinee!! To start, we shared the fried green tomatoes which were topped with chipotle aioli and goat cheese. Then we were served warm, homemade corn muffins, mmm! I had an an enormous slice of lobster quiche with Hollandaise sauce and a tasty, fresh, side mesclun salad. It appeared as though there was... Dined at B. Smith's before a Broadway show at the suggestion of a friend who lives in New York. I agree with the reviewer who said there were some hits and some misses, however, none of it was memorable. I doubt that I'll visit again nor will I recommend.

In the past, I've visited B. Smith's many times. I've been to her NYC and DC restaurants. The food was always so good. On this trip, I'm still wondering what happened to the wonderful food I used to savor there. I ordered the prixe fixe menu. Everything was bland. Sent my first entree back. It tasted and looked warmed over.... More

Had dinner here on our last night in NYC. The food was good - I had the ceasar salad to start and the fried chicken as a main along with the bread pudding. The Best part was the salad, complimentary corn muffins, and the mac and cheese -which was amazing. The service was so so.

Food is Ok, service could be better. The waiter doesn't have an idea how to be polite and nice to customers.

Barbara Smith's restaurant has been here for ages, and I have been here a few times. The upscale decor is nice but the food is hit or miss. I am not a big fan of southern fried food so I think she should expand the menu to include more healthier choices.

Had a coupon from restaurant.com. The crispy oysters weren't so crispy. The ribs were good. The bread pudding was the best part of the meal. Service was not great. They gave our dinner to the table next to us so we had to wait for a refire. Then the wait staff took forever to bring me back the check after... More

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
