While I had this experience years ago, I took my wife recently and we had a great time. Live music (piano and vocalist) while we enjoyed a Sunday brunch. The ambiance, service and fresh food are what we enjoyed. We planned our day around this meal and we would go again. Fresh food in a historic hotel.

My friend and I had lunch there. The food was okay but I didn't feel that the high price justifies the food we had there. Nothing was special. The bathroom in the hotel was very good though...

Dear WTPSM, Thank you for your review. Our goal is a great price value relationship and we did not hit the mark evidently. We have such a great setting, which you alluded to a bit, and we need to measure up to that fantastic lobby experience. We hope to see you again in Peacock Alley! And a great martini...I'm extremely picky so these can be hard to find but I couldn't have been happier.

Dear Worldwidelunas, Thank you for the review. No one does better classic cocktails than the Waldorf. Hard to push anyone off a martini....why would I....but know that we created the Rob Roy and the Bronx. Maybe next time! Julien Pierlas Restaurant Manager More

see my review of the Waldorf Astoria. We had high expectations. While the hotel was nice the service was disappointing, particularly in Peacock Alley. You get better service at the Peackock Alley in the WA in Edinburgh. (the Calley). We went a few times and the service got worse each time. We think it is a cultural issue. Good luck... More

We went to have the Sunday brunch as much good have been written about it. It's good but nowhere near the hype and our expectations reading it. The food is good, the selection as well. The price is much much too high. The room is great to be in but the table and chairs seems to be more like the... More

We dined there two nights while we were at the hotel. We loved the ambience and the cocktails. They put down a nicely sized portion of snack mix so the smaller dinner plates are perfect. I had a platinum martini which was excellent and my beau had a Robert Burns which he liked so much he ordered the next night.... More

One of best places to enjoy the hotel and the guests passing through, often people on the way to a benefit at the hotel.

Dear JoanneMurphy, Thanks for your great review. I visited the bar with my wife for cocktails earlier today. A signature of any high end hotel is staff that make you feel welcome and comfortable. We have travelled widely and have experienced excellent service on many occasions. This was the opposite. With one notable exception the bar staff were rude and disinterested

Dear PDR1971, Thank you for bringing your feedback to our attention. I always appreciate hearing from our guests - including areas of opportunity. None of the positive features of our restaurant merit poor bar service and an experience that does not align with the setting. I am sorry we did not perform on that level and we need to. We... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
