All of the food was wonderful, and the wait staff, all men, were very attentive and charming. We enjoyed our mussels appetizer, and our pasta entrees. The cannoli was a little less than I had hoped, but still good.

My two daughters (teenagers) and I found this restaurant a couple of years ago, just walking around. Had no reservation, but they were able to take us. Really warm friendly service, excellent food, nothing too fancy. Very comfortable, unpretentious, moderate noise level, moderate prices. We've been back several times and have had extremely pleasant experiences each time.

Great Italian food with a Spanish flair. I had a short ribs entree that was one of the best short rib recipes I have ever had. Reasonable prices, including the wine list. Two appetizers, two entrees, bottle of wine, shared dessert for $170 including a generous tip. Returned the next night for cocktails and dessert. Friendly staff, all who have... More

Despite a slightly quirky appearance the food here was delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant was clean and pleasant and the waiters made us feel very welcome. Picture this, pink neon ceiling backlighters, multicoloured leather booths and "Friday night fight" boxing on the TV behindh the bar area - almost surreal!. Nevertheless, the food was fantastic, prepared on time and... More

Very nice dining room with white table cloths and some outside seating. I started with carpaccio that was served with shaved parmesan and served over greens. It could have used a little more of the tastey mustard caper sauce drizzled on the side of the plate. My penne was perfectly al dente, but the garlic was a bit over browned... More

Can I blame the tour company for the awful food we ate at San Martin Restaurant? Insight Gold was partly responsible, because the limited menu had been selected by them. And an expensive tour it was, so there was no excuse for giving us such a terrible meal. First course was the choice of salad, pasta or calamari. My partner... More

My wife and I along with another couple were looking for a quiet place to have a good meal at the end of a long day of adventure in New York City. The San Martin was the perfect solution. It was just luck that we found it. We were walking back to our hotel (The Kimberly) and we saw it.... More

I always come to San Martin when I stay in NYC. Excellent service, food, and fair prices. The crowd is always friendly, and the cute tables outside are great on a cool night. Don't miss this place!
