We stumbled upon this gem when we spotted it from the Bus Tour. What a find! We cannot wait for our next NYC trip to come back. Food, service, ambiance all 5 star.

San Martin Restaurant is like being in a big Italian family dining room. Food was excellent and portion sizes were huge. A very traditional Italian Restaurant with a great atmosphere,.

Don't miss the Chop Salad for a starter. Delicious! Entrees are varied but we chose pastas. Again, wonderful. Great location. Gracious host. Staff scurried about to take care of patrons.

Great food and service. Good variety on the menu for dinner. Recommend apple tart. Visit San Martin a couple times a year and never disappointed.

So first complaint... They charge 20% tip on the Bill before you receive it.. I was having a simple dinner on my own and very disappointed with that. I did see that it was done selectively for me. I am no Italian but their risotto was just ok ... They did give me a lot of garlic rusk.. It might... More

A romantic meal for 2 on our second visit to this great city. Mediocre food and service but very high bill due to all the extras! $20 for bread not ordered, service charge added without any choice at 15%! Turned a reasonably priced meal into a bad taste in the mouth! We don't mind paying for good service but doesn't... More

Ate here twice in November 2014. First time had short ribs (special) which was great, the second time a veal dish, which at best was mediocre. Service was okay, but nothing special. Outstanding however was the tiramisu! Would stop there for dessert when back in the area.

Almost every time we come to NYC, we come here for an Italian meal. It is modest in price but superb in quality of food. I had a great seafood risotto -- a variety of fresh seafood that was done perfectly. My partner had lasagna that she also enjoyed. The staff are very friendly and attentive. If one is looking... Stopped in here the night before the marathon, mostly because it was close to our hotel. What a great choice we made. Great pasta, excellent service, and just the right atmosphere for a relaxing dinner the night before our big race, which was nice to have in Midtown. The clincher was when we went back a couple nights later. The... More
