Expansive menu with modest prices

Went there for dinner on a Saturday night. It was busy but not loud at all. New York restaurants are very noisy but this place was pretty calm. I had the Gryo dinner for $14. Plenty of food. It came with a side Greek salad and fries. My husband had just a Gyro sandwich for $9. Also generous... read more

We stay at the Sofitel along the street but always come here for breakfast. Is this the only place in the US where you don't leave a tip? You pay at the till and they don't add a service charge. Very odd ...!!

We found this diner by chance as we were staying near by, but went back several times during our stay. We all enjoyed the efficient and friendly service and the food was an extra bonus! The food was reasonably priced and always served fresh and hot. Refills of hot drinks were supplied and water was on the table too. There... More

The queue for breakfast at this diner shows how popular it is, and it is well worth the wait. Their ability to utilise all their tables is amazing, and you get really good value for money. Would definitely recommend it.

I suspect that not a whole lot has changed at the Red Flame since the mid 60's. The decor is fairly reminiscent of that era, the menu is vastly expansive and service is repaid. We settled into our table on a recent busy Friday morning. I suspect that there is always a wait for tables here (but don't be deterred).... More

True diner food but many healthy options. Service was great and we went twice in a row to eat good and go!

We went to Red Flame for food after an evening theater performance and it was just what we needed. Not too expensive. I had scrambled eggs and bacon. They came with French fries which I tried to resist. I am glad I gave in, perfectly crispy on the outside. Wonderful diner food.

This place was just next door to our hotel the Iroquis and we used it several time during our stay. It gets very busy, with locals as well as tourists, so be prepared to queue particularly for breakfast. Typical american diner food at reasonable prices. I understand they deliver to your hotel as well but we didn't try that. Used... More

Good little restaurant - always busy, which is a good sign. Next door to the Algonquin Hotel, so we used it for breakfast. Food good, staff (for the most part) efficient. All you really need.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
