Visited here 3 times whilst in New York, twice for breakfast as it was a few blocks from our hotel and once for dinner. Service good and we found the prices better than other establishments, far enough away from Time Square. Not full of tourists but locals and city workers which is always a good sign. Set out as a... Was looking for a quick breakfast place. We were seated quickly and it took a little time for the waitress to come over. Placed our order and the food came out quickly. Overall good portions and the food tasted pretty good. Had to flag down the waitress to get our bill. She was having a good discussion with a co... More

The Red Flame is my family's go-to place for breakfast. Efficient wait staff, large portions of decent but not overly spectacular food. A good place to fill up before a day of shopping or sightseeing. Not too overpriced by NYC standards.

First if this is your first visit to NYC and you're fearful that dining out is extremely expensive no need to worry you will have several affordable options. Second, NYC does a great job of looking out for the dining consumer and challenging restaurants to maintain the dining experience. To accomplish this the city assigns inspection ratings (A thru D... It's open 24 hrs a day, is in a fantastic location, the service is always good and the food can't be beat. What do you expect, there's a Greek owner! I seem to get the same thing every time because it's nostalgic for me: A Swiss cheese omelet and rye toast with an egg cream soda. This time, I got... More

Love this place! For a diner, the food is excellent, with a wide variety of choices. On our last two trips to NY, we've eaten multiple breakfasts and late-night dinners/snacks here, and we've never been disappointed. Not a place for fancy food, but, for a diner, it's great, and as reasonably priced as one would expect to find in midtown... More

This diner was just a couple of doors up from our hotel, The Algonquin (amazing place). Having had a late lunch and roaming the city for the day, we just headed back to our hotel and had a late dinner at this place. Very clean and modernized. Can't say the wait staff is that great (especially the hostess), but I... More

Opposite the Royalton so convenient for people staying there. Service was quick and the menu wide. Portions generous. A great way to start the day.

Wonderful spot to have good food quickly served at home-town prices. Having the Flame for an eating option helps counter the high price of hotels in New York City.

This is the place for an inexpensive breakfast or lunch - great food, quick service and cheap. A must visit.
