Description: Located just steps from Madison Avenue and one block from the Metropolitan...
Located just steps from Madison Avenue and one block from the Metropolitan Museum and Central Park, Grazie is the perfect place for lunch, dinner, or a late afternoon snack. Opened in 1993, Grazie continues to charm the neighborhood with delicious Italian food served in a beautiful townhouse setting. Lunch offers a wide variety of omelets, pizzas, sandwiches and salads. The Italian "Bento Box" offers tastings of two savories and a sweet for a quick, satisfying and inexpensive lunch. At dinner, let us tempt you with wonderful and innovative dishes such as our popular veal, encrusted in aged parmesan cheese and served with a lemon-caper sauce and sauteed spinach. Desserts are not to be missed! Try our Italian s'mores with Nutella and toasted marshmallows or our famous zeppole, rolled in cinnamon and brown sugar and served with two dipping sauces. Whatever you're craving a light lunch, dinner with friends, or a cozy place for a cappuccino in the afternoon, we are here to serve you.

After the museum

We came here after a late evening at the Met. It is a short walk from there. Everything we had we loved: the wine, the goat cheese and tomato appetizer, the margarita pizza and the roasted chicken. It is a small quiet place and seems more like a neighborhood restaurant than a tourist place.

We had a really good dinner at Grazie after a late evening at the Met recently. We'd been there before several years ago, and this visit reminded us what a good choice it is. The service is really warm and friendly. The food is quite good and the atmosphere very pleasant, especially on a cold winter night. It's in an... More

Just a great thin crust pizza in a part of town where having a full tummy makes museum going so much better. The Guggenheim is down the street and worth seeing. They offer a lunch and dinner menu. Two people can split their pizza. Yummy and great ingredients. Great service.

My daughter and I usually eat at the Metropolitan Museum when we visit, simply because it's daunting to decide on a local restaurant. This time we decided to be adventurous, and we are so glad we did. What a lovely brunch we had: a well-made Bloody Mary, delicious brioche, perfectly cooked eggs, delightful dessert. We were welcomed, not rushed, well... More

It is like visiting family. Food is delicious and the chef will accommodate special request. Very reasonably priced. Staff is incredible. Not a huge restaurant-more of a great neighborhood restaurant rather than a tourist place.

Grazie, located on 84th Street just a block from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, has been around for a while, offering nicely prepared Italian food at reasonable prices in a small, but lovely UES setting. There is plenty to choose from on the menu, plus some enticing daily specials. The meal begins with some good bread and olive oil. We... More

We came here for a late lunch/brunch and had the mushroom pizza and the goat cheese omelette... It was great! I would definitely recommend it if you are near central park or near the Met.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
