Located just steps from Madison Avenue and one block from the Metropolitan Museum and Central Park, Grazie is the perfect place for lunch, dinner, or a late afternoon snack. Opened in 1993, Grazie continues to charm the neighborhood with delicious Italian food served in a beautiful townhouse setting. Lunch offers a wide variety of omelets, pizzas, sandwiches and salads. The Italian "Bento Box" offers tastings of two savories and a sweet for a quick, satisfying and inexpensive lunch. At dinner, let us tempt you with wonderful and innovative dishes such as our popular veal, encrusted in aged parmesan cheese and served with a lemon-caper sauce and sauteed spinach. Desserts are not to be missed! Try our Italian s'mores with Nutella and toasted marshmallows or our famous zeppole, rolled in cinnamon and brown sugar and served with two dipping sauces. Excellent lunch

Fabulous spot for lunch, right near most uptown museums. Quiet and lovely, but pricey. I had a fabulous lunch of salad with grilled Salmon. I will be back when I visit Nyc

The food is delicious and the setting one of my favorites. Its in an old brownstone so its very cozy and pretty quiet. Most of the people there are clearly regulars and well-known to the staff. The service was lovely. The location is excellent - a few blocks from the Met and from Central Park. Also, its on Open Table.

This is a not to miss place to eat on the upper east side. Authentic gourmet Italian. Be aware that it is on the pricey side but worth every penny!!!

After a fantastic morning in The Metropolitan Museum of Art it felt a bit cheeky to pop in without a reservation. We were welcomed and taken to a fantastic table. The kids devoured pasta and pizza from the kids menu while we enjoyed Pinot and poached eggs. The build your own Sundae will be family legend. Beautiful food and stunning... More

Not inexpensive but very flavorful dishes and pizza. No inexpensive red wines (start in the $40's) but decent ones for the lowest prices. Cozy spot with good service and welcoming owner ( or maybe manager).

Reasonable, good value and a pleasant local spot. The Bar is nice if you are solo and Upstairs or Downstairs...both are good.

Since my review last year of this restaurant, a neighborhood favorite on the Upper East Side, Jennifer, the owner, has totally renovated the place. The dark wood has given way to a fresh lighter look, which we found pleasing. Fortunately, however the very good food has not changed one bit and short ribs are still served here. We had a... More

Compared to some of the other Italian restaurants we have eaten at in NY, food was okay and service good, but it wasn't cheap, not quite the value we were expecting.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Caffe Grazie for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how gracious the staff was towards my party of 6. We arrived a little early and only waited a few minutes before the table was ready. The owner, Jennifer Mandell, greeted us with a smile and also provided some history of the building,... More

This restaurant used to be very good but now it is beyond mediocrity. To begin with the bourbon old-fashioned was just bourbon and sugar water no cherry no orange nothing. We had a seafood dinner with tough muscles and clams in a source that could have come out of a can – it may have been better if it come... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
