Just like any other

This was our 1st visit. We went in just before noon and were seated immediately in the dining area which was noisy as we noticed it seems to be the area where local executives have their lunch. If you want a less noisy atmosphere, you may request to be seated right after the main entrance... read more

An archetypical American diner. At least, the tourist's version of it. Perhaps locals once used to eat in Pershing Square, some time in the distant past. It's the kind of place that you only really get in the US, the sort of thing you've maybe seen in a TV show or movie. I mean, it's a diner. The food is... More

Just opposite Grand Central Station: rather like the Tardis, but so stylish once inside. huge breakfast choice and the blueberry pancakes were great.

This place is always busy, however there never seems to be that long a wait for a table! We visited this place after remembering how much we'd enjoyed the breakfast on a previous trip in 2009. On this visit we had the pancakes and they were amazing! The best pancakes I've ever had - we had chocolate chip & banana... More

We didn't want to eat at the food court at Grand Central Station, so we were pleased to find this restaurant right across the street. The waiter was very attentive. The chicken pot pie was comfort food at its best. The duck breast was also very good. Seemed a little pricey because this was one of our first meals in... More

If you want to experience breakfast New York style, then this place is a must, the great atmosphere, the hive of activity and the great quality food is definitely worth experiencing. Excellent service, huge varied menu, great value and delcious food. Be prepared to wait in line for a table, but it's worth the wait.

The New Yorker breakfast for $20 (bacon, eggs, excellent potatoes and toast) was very good. The waffle was mediocre. Eggs Benedict were good. Nice atmosphere. Very crowded. Had to wait a few extra minutes to sit in the back,

New York is expensive for food, very expensive especially if you want good quality! Myself and my family passed this restaurant and went in. Thank God we did! This restaurant was more than accommodating for the two vegetarians in our party with 4/5 choices on the menu for us which is a huge bonus as we would normally only have... More

They claim to have the best breakfast in town. I couldn't argue with that. We were lucky and walked right in and got a table for 4. This was around 8 AM. By 9 AM, the line was out the door! I especially enjoyed the courteous and attentive wait staff. We ordered the New Yorker, but our friends had made... More

Came here twice for breakfast. Tucked beneath the Grand Central Terminal viaduct, directly across from the terminal doors facing Park Avenue, is this gem of a renovated,1920s style American cafe. Expect long lines and bustling crowds on the weekends, but service is super fast and the wait staffers are very helpful and friendly. The coffee cheerfully kept coming, the breakfast... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
